On behalf of the entire chapter, as
they step down we want to thank
Paul and Betty Koermer for the
excellent job they have done as our
Chapter Directors for the past two
years. We only hope we can do as
well in our new positions and look
to you all for your support. We
anticipate a great year and if the
planning meeting is any indication,
it looks like most of you are eager
to get into the swing of things too.
We have plenty of visits to other
chapters already lined up (Steve
likes the idea of doing the ‘far
away’ visits in the cold months in
the car) and already have many
rally and fund-raisers on the
calendar. Be sure to get a copy of
the updated calendar, either at our
holiday party on Jan. 5 or at the
next chapter gathering, which will
January 2008
be the THIRD Sunday of the month
from now on. In January that is the
20th. We’ll have the current
month’s calendar on the website.
We plan to keep you informed with
anything new, either via email,
website updates or the phone tree if
needed. Staff members meet at our
house on Wed, Jan. 16 at 7pm.
It was great to see everyone at the
Holiday Party at the Bayou on
January 5th. If you weren’t able to
make it, hopefully you can next
year; it is always a lot of fun. We
had our VW for Winterthing there
so everyone could see it, even if
you won’t be going to OC with us.
We really want to give a big thanks
to Neal Reynolds for building it, to
Paul Koermer for painting it, and to
the Javis’s, Sue Miller, and the
Surettes for helping us decorate it.
I really think we have a winner!
Also, for those of you who have not
decided to go to Winterthing,
please reconsider. We had a great
time last year and expect to have a
blast this year with the 70’s theme.
And lastly a special thanks to all
who attended the get-together at
our house back in September and
made a donation, the ‘Angels at

She is not new to holding a staff
position as she was once Director
for Chapter H before. Sue is
having computer problems and
unable to send her article but
hopefully she will be up and

Ageless riding is the art of
staying on your seat – your bike
seat, that is.
I was at a Michigan Road Riders
meeting in July, with average
people like Ron (62), R.W. (87)
and Ward (85). Two of whom have
completed Iron Butt Association
rides in the last two years, by the
way.
I am just 53. I say “just”
because about the time I was
thinking I was getting older and
might have to give up some of my
motorcycling, a member who I had
never met came to the July
meeting. He’s not a new member.
He has been riding for about 65
years or so. He pulled into the
parking lot on a Gold Wing with a
sidecar attached, climbed off the
bike, and helped his wife out of the
sidecar.
Lou is 97 years young, and his
wife, Judith, is 88 years young. I
figured that I at least have about 44
years of riding to look forward to.
