Over the past eleven years, Trustkill Records has risen out of a
College dorm room into the world famous independent music
brand it has become known for. A wildly successful DIY story, the
Trustkill brand has attained status as the authoritative voice in
the worlds of independent metal, hardcore, punk and emo music.
Every year since its inception has been a success unto itself, with
the past several years showing tremendous growth for the label.
In 2006 Trustkill has had five albums debut on the Billboard
charts, three of which landed in the "Top 200". Trustkill has now
become a fully staffed company, with departments in marketing,
sales, merchandising, new media, creative, and a self-maintained
warehouse. The label itself grew out of the dorm room of Josh
Grabelle, who at 19 years of age became interested in the music
business when he was promoting hardcore/punk shows in the
basement of his parent's house at the New Jersey shore. This
suburban basement became the New Jersey stop for many
legendary groups on tour including Earth Crisis, Hatebreed,
Snapcase & Sensefield.

Charlie Louvin
The term “living legend” gets thrown around quite a
bit, but it actually applies to Country MusicHall of
Famer Charlie Louvin. Charlie Louvin’s influence on
country, alt-country, and their many sub-genres, is
incalculable. The unique harmonies and lyrical folk
poetry of the Louvin Brothers (“among the top duos
in country music history” –AllMusic.com) have
inspired countless covers of their songs by such
artists as Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, the Byrds,
Emmylou Harris, Uncle Tupelo and the Raconteurs
(with Jack White). Produced by Mark Nevers
(Lambchop, Calexico, Candi Staton) and Charlie
Louvin, the new album was recorded in
Spring/Summer 2006 in Nashville. It features guest
performances by Elvis Costello, Jeff Tweedy, Will
Oldham, Tom T. Hall, George Jones, Bobby Bare
Sr., Tift Merritt, Marty Stuart, David Kilgour, and
members of Bright Eyes, Lambchop, Superchunk,
Blanche and Clem Snide, among others.
The album features several Louvin Brothers
classics as well as country favorites first
popularized by Jimmie Rodgers, the Delmore
Brothers, the Carter Family, and the Monroe
Brothers. Charlie has also included a moving tribute
to his late brother Ira, with whom he formed the
Louvin Brothers in 1940. (Ira Louvin died in a car
accident in 1965, at age 41.) “Must You Throw Dirt In
My Face,” a new version of the Louvin Brothers’ 1962
hit featuring Charlie with George Jones, is the first
track to be released from Charlie Louvin. Charlie and
his band will tour extensively in 2007, including
special summer appearances celebrating his 80th
birthday (July 7, 2007).

integral role as a member of the late 90’s WuTang spin-off group Sunz Of Man. Their
official debut album “The Last Shall Be First”
in 1998, featured platinum selling artists such
as Earth, Wind & Fire, Wyclef Jean, Method
Man and O.D.B. and went on to sell an
impressive 350,000 units. Hell Razah also
appeared on various Wu-Tang Clan albums
including Ghostface Killah’s “Supreme
Clientele” Method Man’s “Tical” and other
notable Wu related releases. Now in 2006,
after years of eager anticipation, Hell Razah
is set to release his official debut album,
“Renaissance Child”. Boasting nothing but
power packed rhymes, Razah easily holds his

Abandoned Language
Finally, after 2 long years we present dälek’s
masterpiece Abandoned Language. Self
described as their Dark Side Of The Moon,
Pet Sounds à instrumentation is totally
different. In fact, from the sinister strings in
"Lynch" to old-school hip-hop flavor of
"Isolated Stare" to the heady melodicism of
"Tarnished",
Abandoned
Language
is
complex enough for fans of avant-noise, but
accessible enough for mainstream hip-hop
audiences. When we last left off with Dälek,
they had released Absence, a dark and dirgy
romp through hip-hop's underground that left
countless listeners and critics in awe.
However, while it would probably be a good
career move to replicate that album's noisy
charm, Dälek have once again reinvented
themselves with their fourth and most
accomplished
full-length,
Abandoned
Language.

The Carps are from Scarborough, a
pretend hood in Toronto. They are a duo
that plays music for human ears. Having
two people in a band can be a liberating
thing, as it has been seen. Such a shame
they are so young — had they come
around any earlier they could’ve taken
credit for more than a few novel ideas.
With the EP the Young & Passionate
Days of Carpedia, the two ragamuffin
soul rockers deliver the promise to set
themselves far apart from elephants,
swirly red and white candy, beards,
brothers and sisters, and Phil Collins.
The Carps stand alone. They sound like
nothing you could imagine, and
everything you’d like to.
The Carps have played to enthusiastic
crowds from Toronto to Montreal,
Chicago to New York City, Philadelphia
and beyond, with plans to ride the

Lo Down & Dirty
Thirstin Howl III is a New York MC who is known
for his brutal punch lines, gruff flow and wicked
sense of humor. He was first introduced to the
world of hip-hop on the standout track “Brooklyn
Hard Rock” from “Soundbombing 2,” a cd
featuring hip-hop’s brightest stars released in
1999 on the now infamous label Rawkus. From
winning The Source’s Unsigned Hype title in
1997 to recording a series of solo albums with
guests spots from the likes of Mos Def and
Eminem,
he
has
remained
staunchly
independent while perfecting his flow and
building a worldwide fanbase. Fast forward to
2006, Thirstin Howl III is set to release his debut
collaborative album “Lo Down & Dirty” with
partner in rhyme Rack-Lo. Every song is punchy
and powerful, proving that when it comes to
beats, it’s not about where you’re from, but
where your production skills are at. Lo Down &
Dirty is a grimy, street-life laden musical
landscape befitting the criminal stories and Lo
Life anthems that Thirstin and Rack bring to the
table with assured finesse. Be sure to check for
this landmark release of hardcore hip hop.

Smokin Day 2
Press play on G-Unit Radio Part 1 and
the owl calls of Whoo Kid reassures you
that “this is not a mixtape… this is a
revolution.” The ubiquitous gunplay that
follows says otherwise. A lot of mixtapes
these days (including this one) boast a
Hip-Hop “who’s who” that in most cases
would make any boom bap neophyte
drool at the mouth. Hosted by the man
himself Snoop Dogg and G-Unit frontman
50 Cent, this monster of a CD also
features key members of G-Unit and will
be one of the most sought after mixtapes
of 2007. Be prepared for the illest beats
and a lyrical assault from some of the
baddest rappers and producers in the
game.

Japan’s Yoshida Brothers are something
of an anomaly. Rock starts with classical
roots, their music showcases the place
where tradition meets youthful
irreverence. Kenichi and Ryoichiro both
play the Tsugaru-Shamisen, an ancient
three-stringed Japanese instrument
(much like a banjo or lute) – but with a
twist. Whether playing solo (or in this
case duo) shows side-by-side, or backed
by a full band, their sound is at once
rooted firmly in the ancestral sounds of
northern Japan, while infused with the
energy of contemporary interpretation.
The brothers began playing together at
age 5 and their debut desc, released in
1999 sold over 100,000 copies –
impressive considering that most
Tsugaru-Shamisen albums top out at
around 5,000. Their latest release,
Hishou (meaning flight), continues this
exploration of marrying new phrasing to
traditional sounds. The result is at once
sentimental and respectful of the past,
while also forging a sonic bridge to the
future. The album marks a return to the
basics for the brothers, highlighting their
commitment to and reverence for the
historic art of Tsugaru-Shamisen.

This Too Will Pass
An album two years in the making, This
Too Will Pass represents an emotionally
intense amalgam of anxiety, isolation,
and a series of transient experiences
gathered over this turbulent era. It
follows artists Hrishikesh Hirway through
several relationships and residences; a
break-up in Los Angeles following his last
album, an uncle’s divorce in India
severing a long year of writer’s block, a
year of solitude spent crafting new
material in his childhood home now
vacant, and various stints on friends’
couches and apartments taking him from
Los Angeles to Rhode Island. This Too
Will Pass is a cathartic journey
examining the depths of these
experiences, melding a vast array of
electronic and organic instruments that
often defy conventional recognition with
powerful songwriting, in effect creating a
cohesive beauty that beckons the listener
to become part of each song.
