Pop/R&B artist George emerged this
summer with his first single, “Talk To
Me.” The video, directed by MMVAwinner RT!, was added straight into
heavy rotation and has been steadily
climbing the countdown ever since.
George hasn’t been around to enjoy the
progress though – he’s been down in LA
finishing his debut album and rehearsing
his stage show.
The professional presentation off the top
is just one of the lessons George is
learning from his mentors and managers,
CJ Huyer (3Deep) and Howie Dorough
(Backstreet Boys). Howie and CJ make
up HC Entertainment, George’s
production company, management
company, and record label.
George returns to Canada for a
performance in Toronto on Oct. 19th at the
Flare For Fashion event, then for a week of
promotion around release, and then hits
the road on tour (dates and venues TBA).

With a musical trajectory that spans nearly a
decade, ISIS has emerged from the frozen
recesses of New England to become an
internationally renowned force in underground
music. Critically revered as the vanguard of
"art metal," the band has consistently
exploded the idiomatic strictures that have
traditionally defined heavy music, with each
new release expanding and improving upon
the innovations of its predecessor. Produced
and recorded with the utmost clarity and
fidelity by longtime ISIS co-conspirator Matt
Bayles at the Bomb Shelter in downtown Los
Angeles, In The Absence Of Truth is a living,
breathing panorama of soaring melodies,
dizzying rhythmic ziggurats and seismic
heaviness. In The Absence Of Truth is ISIS’
first record in two years following the highly
successful Panopticon and 2002’s Oceanic.

Nellie McKay
Pretty Little Head
After a year long battle for her
independence, Nellie McKay’s
sophomore album is finally being
released on her own. Originally
slated for release in 2005, McKay
began to explore the possibilities of
being released from her contract with
Columbia and financed this album
entirely on her own. While this is an
interesting story of a fiercely
independent artist battling to be free,
the real story here is this 23-song
masterpiece, Pretty Little Head.
McKay continues where Get Away
From Me left off as she has crafted
yet another incredibly unique,
mesmerizing album.

Dogs have a pedigree to be proud of; not
only do they represent the bastard offspring
of The Clash, Bragg, Dylan and Marley’s
political voice mated with The Replacements
punk-drunk attitude, but they also include in
their ranks members of two of Beantown’s
modern punk heroes, The Mighty Mighty
Bosstones and Dropkick Murphy’s. Their first
release for DRT Back to the World laid the
seeds of punk greatness that Street Dogs
are sure to sew this time around. Fading
American Dream, which features guest spots
from members of both Flogging Molly and
The Pogues, is a rousing diatribe on the
current state of affairs, both a love letter to the
common man and a With Sympathy card to
the US political system that has failed him.
Street Dogs already spent the Summer on
tour with The Adolescents, trying on their new
tunes for size and reminding their fans, old and
new alike, that in-your-face, catchy political
punk anthems are not dead. Always the road

DJ Drama/ Lil’ Wayne Gangsta Grillz ~~ Dedication 2 provides a well
rounded experience of the New Orleans bred lyricist and an in-depth glance
at Weezy’s tongue-twisted wordplay.
Features flow from Weezy’s artist, Currency and Remy Ma on “Where the
Cash At” and “No Other” with Juelz Santana. Freeway also makes his
presence felt on “Cannon” featuring newcomers Willie The Kid, Detroit Red
and Juice.Overall, Weezy’s new installment of Gangsta Grillza with DJ
Drama, The Dedication 2, is a completely different experience from the first
one. It further established Lil’ Wayne as one of the illest lyricists from the
South to make it to the top. New Orleans stand up; Tha Carter is putting it
down!!! And as always, DJ Drama is taking control and spewing out his
Gangsta Grillz stamp on every track, assuring that everyone not only listens
but PAYS ATTENTION.

DJ DRAMA’s Mixtape Madness
Lil Wayne & DJ Drama –
Dedication 2
Cat. #: 101-15210
Format: CD
Price Code: S
Box Lot: 30
Order Due: Oct. 19, 06 G.C: 34
Street Date: Nov. 7, 06 File: Rap / Hip Hop
Label: Oarfin / Fontana North
DJ Drama and Young Jeezy call Tha Streets Iz Watchin’ an “album before the
album,” referring to the fiery Atlanta rapper’s Let’s Get it: Thug Motivation 101 debut,
but we’ll simply refer to it as Jeezy’s introduction to the world. Like No. 7 on the field,
Jeezy on the mic, even then, was nearly unstoppable. He has a swagger beyond his
youthful exterior; a developed sense of wordplay far extending his trap house
address. If there was a rookie of the year award to be handed out in the NFL
(National Federation of Lyricists), Jeezy would easily grab the most first-place votes.
The dank “Hold Up” and reflective “Lean Wit It” would be prime examples of his street
smarting off, but they aren’t his only.
An almost as daunting task is figuring out which guest effort is the best. One-time
Boyz N Da Hood homie Jody Breeze, Trick Daddy, and BMF’s Blu Davinci set up an
amazing frontline of grime, but it’s Jeezy’s right-hand man, Slick Pulla who weaves
through the pounding backdrops to make the most of Jeezy’s spit.

Charlotte Martin Stromata
Cat. #: DFR001
Format: CD
Price Code: SP
Box Lot: 30
Order Due: Oct. 19, 06 G.C: 2
Street Date: Nov. 7, 06 File: Alternative
Label: Dinosaur Fight / Fontana South
Touring in 2003-2004 with Damien Rice, Liz Phair, Sondre Lerche, and
Howie Day, Charlotte Martin expanded beyond the Los Angeles club
circuit, securing a worldwide fanbase. With support from Charlotte’s
street/e-team (7000+ members) her national headlining tours in
2005/2006 garnered an overwhelming response at numerous sold out
performances including Chicago, New York City and Atlanta. Charlotte’s
new full-length album, Stromata, takes focus off the acoustic piano and
indulges in the world of analog synthesizers, digital percussion and
vocal collages. www.charlottemartin.com
Martin dramatically fingers her keyboard to lush orchestration from strings
and delivers lines with...inspired conviction." - SPIN.com

MV&EE with the Bummer Road –
Green Blues
Cat. #: B0007847-02
Format: CD
Price Code: N
Box Lot:
Order Due: Oct. 19, 06 G.C: 2
Street Date: Nov. 7, 06 File: Alternative
Label: Ecstatic Peace / Fontana South
From the deep wilds of New England, specifically lower Vermontand
western Massachusetts, MV/EE and the Bummer Road, an enclave
consisting of Matt Valentine, Erika Elder, Michael Ehlers and a
revolving/evolving auxiliary of men, women, dogs and stars has been
exploring, developing and investigating the lost-and found art of what they
describe as “lunar blues, sometimes fingerstyle noise/space” for a few
years now. After a host of recordings issued by various cosmo-song
inspired labels, particularly MV/EE’s own COM imprint, which has released
an awesome array of handmade CDRs not only of their own exploits but
that of the howling spirit-community they run with, Ecstatic Peace is
positively glowing to announce what may be the heaviest, most skyminded recording in MV/EE + the Bummer Road’s oeuvre.
"...an unforgettable display of emotions." – Interview
"...an epic, experimental effort which bursts through genres one by one,
stunning the listener with a tour de force of sounds that wraps around your
head so tightly it cries out for the headphone experience." InMyHeadphones.com
"Dramatic, powerful, individual. A knockout album. The vocals! The
songwriting-hooks and wanderings and experimentation! Charlotte Martin
has grown up to fulfill all the promise in her early work." - The Ectophiles'
Guide to Good Music
“GREEN BLUES may be the ultimate and most genuine
artifact of what the media has proffered as “freak folk” as it
not only makes manifest all that is desirous of said scene but,
in true nature, goes well beyond any known parameters as
such. An already classic and legendary move.”
- Thurston Moore

The Heartaches –
Too Cool For School
Cat. #: SWA137
Format: CD
Price Code: S
Box Lot: 30
Order Due: Oct. 19, 06 G.C: 37
Street Date: Nov. 7, 06 File: Rock
Label: Swami / Fontana South
Finally, at last and long awaited, the debut of California’s most
exciting tinnitus inducing combo. Propelled by the fierce beat of pro
skateboarder Kristian Svitak, The Heartaches dry hump their way
through 15 tracks of quintessential punk bliss. Although there are
indeed cues taken from everybody’s favorite bands (The Saints,
The Ramones, The Kinks, Real Kids, Rolling Stones, Elvis) The
Heartaches create a familiar yet lost pop innocence that could only
happen in 2006. Hear timeless punk rock n roll elucidated by cromagnon sensibilities! Hear severely inhibited chord thuggery
convey passionately tuneful pop masterpieces! Hear the AM
sounds of the 60’s stand alongside 70’s classic punk and the
untamed frontier of wild 50’s rock n roll! Hear stiff chocolate
jackhammer into warm receptive peanut butter. Their agitated
thrusting blurs the identities of these formidable confections and
forces them into one congealed, pacified, pulp. Catch The
Heartaches on tours with Rancid, The (reformed) Zombies,
Mooney Suzuki and Flogging Molly .
