Dear Friends,
Last call to make your reservations
for our annual picnic!!!!! Reservations
have to be phoned into our office no later
than Tuesday, August 2nd!!!!! The picnic
will be held on FRIDAY, AUGUST 12TH
and will begin at 11:30 AM.
I still have a few tickets left to
see the movie “Art of Love” at the Friendship Center in Westland on August 11th.
This is a free event but has limited seating.
Doors open at 12:30 pm with the movie
starting at 1:00 pm.
I have one ticket available to see
“Ernie” at the City Theatre on Saturday,
August 13th. Cost is $17.50. Dinner will be
at your own cost at Hockeytown Café after
the show. Transportation is provided.
We still need about 15 more people to
sign up for the State Fair on September 1st
so that we can schedule a bus. If we don’t
meet our minimum number you will need
to find alternate transportation. Please
contact us by August 15th.
The State Fair trip is on Thursday,
Sept. 1st. If a bus is scheduled, we plan on
leaving the Rec Complex at 8:45 AM.
Admission is free for those who are 62+, $6
for ages 50-61 plus a small cost for the
transportation.

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Enhance Fitness - Recreation Complex
Classes are held on Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday at 11 AM. Thursday’s class is
done with a “hustle” flair.
Jewelry Class - Meets on Wednesday at
1:30 PM at the Rec Complex.
Friendship Club - Meets 11 AM - 2 PM
every Thursday at the Rec Complex. New
members are welcome!!!!
Wii Bowling - Thursdays at 12:30 PM at
the Rec Complex.
Crochet with JoAnne - Monday and
Thursday at Lehigh Center. Wednesday
at the Rec Complex. All days 11 AM - 4
PM.

Age of Love Movie - Thursday, Aug. 11th at the
Westland Friendship Center. Doors open at

Inkster Parks and Recreation Department to present a short
documentary discussing the historical and culinary journey of soul food
and its relevance to black identity. Do not lose loved ones too soon from
nutrition related illnesses. Join us for the viewing, food sampling, and
conversation around healthier alternatives to soul food.
