Hi everyone, Have You Had Your Shake Today?
The Asia Pacific Extravaganza Highlights!
What an amazing June we had and weren’t the Extravaganzas incredible? For those of you
who did attend, I hope you have taken some of what you have learned and shared the many
best practices with your organizations. You all have such wonderful ideas and energy that
sharing these with each other creates even more excitement and success for us all.
With the Extravaganzas concluded, I do encourage you all to continue helping your
Freshman Class toward their goal of graduating in January 2013 and January 2014. These
Supervisors, especially who attended the Extravaganza, are in the lucky position to be our
future leaders and we want all of you Freshman to stay in the business so you can help more
people with the gift of good nutrition , but also so you can build a business around your
customers.
Can you feel the excitement?
The Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2013 is by far the biggest
Extravaganza reaching a combined attendance of more than
55,000 Distributors in Korea, Thailand and India. In BangkokThailand, over 23,000 Distributors from 12 countries across Asia
Pacific lifted the training room of IMPACT Exhibition Centre with
energy and enthusiasm as they proudly waved their country
flags and became immersed in the ultimate Herbalife experience.
Passionate, Enthusiastic Distributors take the opportunity to
purchase the fabulous branded merchandise.
For many of you, you are now conducting the Active SP Retreat (or the Dream Weekend/
Dream Team Festival) and what an amazing response. For many of you this August and
September will be the first Retreat where our attendees will get a chance to learn more about
the basics of being and Active Supervisor and a World Team member. We’re also on our way
to the incredible Future President’s Team Retreat and the Active World Team University in
Bangkok. This is the first ever Active World Team University and we’re doing it in Asia. Isn’t
that amazing. It means that more and more of you are working successfully in the marketing
plan and as you succeed, you in turn will help to train the many new Distributors and
Supervisors who join our business.
Herbalife President Des Walsh provided a corporate update and
discussed the 4 buckets in building it better! He paid special
recognition to the Senior Leadership and encouraged all to
continue to “use, wear and talk” about our products as Herbalife
has the best products and business opportunity in the world.
Asia Pacific Chairman's Club Members and our special guest
speaker Susan Peterson, Founder’s Circle Member and Number
1 Distributor in 2012 shared inspirational stories and their secrets
to success. After days of magical, motivational and fun learning,
Distributors went home with the precious knowledge they have
gained to help them grow their business in their respective cities.
I want also to commend you all for building a stable business around our many customers.
Running a Herbalife business is not for everyone, but our products are certainly for everyone
and we want people to use Herbalife for Life! That means the more our customers know
about the products and use them they will continue to use them as your loyal customers.

their sacrifices and can spend some time with them. Yes, you
need to continue to help your customers and grow your business,
but I hope you also are balancing your lives.
Party Highlights - Hawaiian Luau
Following the heels of a day of hard work and training, it’s the
Qualifier’s party! Over 2,000 Distributors attended the qualifiers
party dressed in their best Hawaiian costumes. The party was
perfect with a nice crowd and music that made the evening truly
magical!
Thank you again for all you do and the many people

The Shake Bar was filled with activity. Distributors poured into
the venue, wanting to be served their F1 shake for breakfast and
lunch. Thousands of dollars were raised with proceeds going to
HFF – providing good nutrition to children around the world.

Customer and Distributor retention is crucial to your long-term
success. Build a more stable business by maintaining the loyalty of
existing customers and Distributors while you continue to recruit and
retail to new prospects.
Customer Retention
Happy customers are the lifeblood of your business. When they see results, not only
do you affect their lives, you create advocates for your business.

Be available and give prompt callbacks. Returning calls the same day is best.
•
Learn how to ensure the best customer experience with Herbalife products.
•
Set up a system to track your customers and sign up for BizWorks.
•
Establish strong relationships by recording and remembering customer details
like age, health issues and goals, family members, birthdays, etc.

Overfat & undernourished
When we hear that an individual is malnourished, most of us would picture someone who’s starving
– a wisp of a person who appears to be simply wasting away. Certainly, people who lack adequate
nutrients and calories are malnourished, but malnutrition can exist even when calories are plentiful
– it just requires too much food with little nutritional value. So here’s a new word for your vocabulary:
“malnubesity”. A merger of malnutrition and obesity sounds like a conflict in terms, but, in fact,
malnubesity is real – many of us are overfat and undernourished.
How did we get here? We need to look at our evolutionary
history for an explanation. Our prehistoric ancestors
needed to eat a lot of food in order to meet their calorie
needs. For one thing, they were extremely active – burning
thousands of calories a day in their constant quest for food.
And, their plant-rich diet didn’t have abundant sources of
concentrated calories.
We’re designed to be incredibly active, but our calorie
needs don’t hold a candle to those of our ancestors. Many
of us work in situations that hardly require us to move at
all. We’re also built to consume as much high-quality food
that nature can provide, but we live in what’s been called
an ‘obesogenic’ environment – we’re surrounded by easyto-get, highly processed, high calorie foods.
But in the modern world, our food supply is overloaded
with highly processed, high calorie, appetizing foods that
are lacking in vital nutrients. And since we have the neural
pathways that encourage us to eat them – and even reward
us for doing so – we’re more than happy to comply.
This mismatch between our genetics and our lifestyle
is what’s led to this paradox of malnutrition coupled
with obesity. We eat exactly opposite of the way we’re
supposed to. We should be taking in lots of plant foods
and lean proteins that will maximize nutritional quality at a
relatively low calorie cost.
As a result, many of us have become overfed and
undernourished. With a diet that supplies an excess
of calories and a shortage of vitamins, minerals and
antioxidants, our health is going to suffer. A little extra
padding is one thing, but malnubesity encourages fat to
settle in places it doesn’t normally go – surrounding vital
organs, like the liver or pancreas, then forcing its way inside

Rule: Product Claims
Distributors must not:
• Make any oral or written medical, therapeutic or curative claims about Herbalife
products. If a customer is under a physician’s care, Distributors are advised
to recommend the customer consult with a physician before undertaking any
changes in diet. Any person with heart, liver or kidney disorders, or who is under
current medical treatment, should always be urged to seek the advice of a
physician before changing their diet.
• Make any claims about the Herbalife products, either orally or in print, other than
those presented in the Career Book, Product Brochure or other official Herbalife
literature.
• Mispresent, in any way, the price, quality, performance or avilability of Herbalife
products.
• Use the name of Federal Drug and Administration (FDA) and Malaysia National
Pharmaceutical Control Bureau(NPCB) when representing our products.
