Fifteen breeds took part to showcase the North Carolina horse industry. Tents covering stalls and booth areas for each breed greeted fairgoers who could see firsthand the horses “up close and personal” and pick up information concerning the breed and barns in the area which offered lessons, training, boarding, etc. In addition, each day there was a Parade of Breeds. The Virginia Carolinas Morgan Horse Club manned the Morgan booth and Boone’s Farm favorite Flintlock’s CO “Pete” greeted visitors. On all three days Flintlock’s Spice Girl and Ezra Beckerdite and Flintlock’s Desire and Kathryn Beckerdite took part in the parade. On Monday Linda Sewall rode her dressage horse Artistic Design. Wednesday CN A Touch Better represented the Morgan classic pleasure saddle horse from Woodbridge Farm. Club members Gael Jaeger, Betsy Buchanan and Mary Buchanan manned the booth, handed out brochures and answered questions. Thanks to these club members for a job well done! Besides the daily Parade of Breeds there were specialty acts including trick riders, vaulters and mustangs. Annual Banquet is November 15!
