Not to mention, WMIL was nominated in that same category in 2013 and 2014. In addition, WMIL’s on-air personalities add to its fantastic roster. The morning show won the CMA Large Market Personality of the Year award in 2001, and was nominated yet again in 2014. PLUS - FM106.1’s ratings are at the top on a consistent basis. WMIL is a leader in the Milwaukee market due to its outstanding leadership, talent and involvement within the community. I think we are all such professionals working at the top of our game. We have plenty of fun, but we also take our jobs seriously and as a result we are the best sounding airstaffs on the radio. Anywhere. - Mark Richards, Mid-day Personality COMMUNITY FM106.1 ran more than $113,000 worth of live liners this past year supporting local charity events (including ones we sponsored)! The FM106.1 morning show dips its feet into the community: Karen had a great time hosting “A Night to Remember Prom” where teens and young adults with special needs got to dance the night away! Scott hung out with the runners at Strain for the Brain, benefiting Brain Tumor Research. Radar showed his athletic side by playing in the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball game! The team travels the country to inspire and educate others on veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs by pushing the limits of modern prosthetic technology. “Love workin’ for FM106.1 because the station allows me to be myself. I don’t have to “pretend” in any way. They encourage it, and it’s easy to be me!” - Radar, Morning Show Personality COMMUNITY $113,000 in promotional value dedicated to charitable advertising. From June 2014 – May 2015, the station was out-and-about at more than 90 different events. 45 of the 90 events were at local business remotes! There’s nothing like a few cheese curds and some corn on the cob. That’s why you can find the station at most county fairs in Southeastern Wisconsin. FM106.1 brings big-time acts, like Eric Paslay and Jerrod Niemann, to these small towns for everyone to enjoy! Who knows – a few lucky listeners might even get to meet some of these acts through FM106.1’s onsite activities, social media contests or on-air giveaways! FM106.1 always knows what’s going on in the city – especially now that they team up with local news station, Fox 6, to bring “Milwaukee Musts,” a new segment that shares the details about local and up-coming events, to listeners and viewers across the Milwaukee area. COMMUNITY #MKECountry rocks the Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and more! FM106.1 loves to share the latest and most happenin’ content that might not be accessible to listeners otherwise. So, let’s take a look at the numbers: FM106.1 has more than 37,000 likes on Facebook. About 7,000 followers on Twitter. Karen, Scott & Radar have more than 6,000 fans on Facebook and 1,779 followers on Twitter. E K M # Y R T N COU LEADERSHIP Program Director, Kerry Wolfe, celebrated his 25th anniversary with the station. Radio Ink named him as one of the top program directors in country music for 2015. Plus - Country Aircheck Weekly also featured Wolfe in one of its November issues! “I have more respect for Kerry Wolfe than any other programmer in the radio industry. He is the catalyst who makes the station go.” - Mark Richards, Mid-day personality Karen Dalessandro was announced as one of the Country Hall of Fame’s newest inductees. She will be one of four women ever inducted into the Hall of Fame ! “Every time Karen and I talk about her induction into the Hall of Fame, I get goosebumps. I seriously start to tear up. She is truly an inspiration and I am grateful for each day I get to work with her!” - Hannah Kultgen, Weekend personality LEADERSHIP WMIL keeps it hot by bringing the latest and greatest acts to Milwaukee! The station partnered with Summerfest (aka – “The World’s Largest Music Festival”) by promoting concerts, including Zac Brown Band, Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, David Nail and more! Not to mention, our FM106.1 “street team” was out on the prowl, interacting with listeners through social media and onsite promotion. #MKECountry never takes a break! Shortly after Summerfest, FM106.1 was the listener source for all-things Country Thunder. Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert and Gary Allan are just a few names that stopped by the all-dirt-all-country festival. FM106.1 hosted the festival on Sunday, featuring exclusive interviews with artists, such as Thomas Rhett, Parmalee and Jason Aldean. “The station is respected on a local and national level and it lives FM106.1 continued its Country Concert Series with The up to it’s reputation. Great people make great radio!!” Rave. Artists, such as Jake Owen, Lee Brice, and Sam Hunt - Karen Dalessandro, Morning Show Personality visited Milwaukee to give unforgettable performances hosted by FM106.1! The Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Admirals also partnered with FM106.1 to offer post-game concerts with Brett Eldredge, Billy Currington and Joe Nichols! LEADERSHIP This past year, the station selected Lynn Marolt to be the Country Concert Correspondent to attend every FM106.1 sponsored concert and meet the artists! Her blog provides listeners with an “inside look” into the VIP Experience! In October, FM106.1 hosted “Lauriefest” and brought Maddie & Tae to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to perform for Laurie and her friends in her back yard! One of the most popular concerts is FM106.1’s Class of 2015! We brought Chase Bryant, John King, Kristian Bush, Canaan Smith and Sam Hunt to Milwaukee for an up-close and intimate guitar pull. We get it – Wisconsin isn’t the ideal state because of its two seasons: Winter and Construction. We may not be able to control the construction (although, we keep listeners informed!), we try to bring a little bit of sunshine to town – better yet, we take our listeners out of town – TO MEXICO. The 2015 FM106.1 Great Escape gave listeners the experience to mix and mingle with country stars Kristian Bush, Frankie Ballard, and Parmalee while enjoying exclusive performances! “I never believed I could be the concert correspondent, but with a little hard work, and a love for listening to the radio, I was able to win an experience of a lifetime. I am forever grateful to FM 106.1. WMIL has a forever fan.” - Lynn Marolt, Country Concert Correspondent LEADERSHIP FM106.1 invites listeners into our home to visit the FM106.1 AT&T Access Granted Lounge and watch private performances from artists like Ashley Monroe, Hunter Hayes and Scotty McCreery! WMIL lives for onsite promotion. At the same time, the station does what it can to support the radio and music industry. FM106.1’s Listener Advisory Panel provides feedback on individual singles, so we can see what’s working in country music and what’s working in our market. WMIL makes sure to encourage listeners all around that music is an important part of our lives by featuring local original music every Sunday night at 10:00PM.
