show and now their kids do too!

KAREN, SCOTT & RADAR
This past year was HUGE for the morning show,
especially for one member in particular...
During 2015 CRS Week, Garth Brooks and Trisha
Yearwood announced
Karen Dalessandro is one of the
Country Radio Hall of Fame’s newest
inductees.
Karen will be one of two on-air personalities
inducted in 2015 and only one of four women
ever inducted in the On-Air
Personality Hall of Fame!
“Being included among this exceptional group of fellow
broadcasters is the greatest honor I could imagine. To be
recognized for my efforts with a Hall of Fame induction is
truly the pinnacle of my career and the gift of a lifetime!”
- Karen Dalessandro

“Every time Karen and I talk about her induction into
the Hall of Fame, I get goosebumps. I seriously start
to tear up. She is truly an inspiration and I am grateful
for each day I get to work with her!”

KAREN
2015 Country Radio Hall of Fame Inductee
23 Years in Country Radio
2001 CMA Personality of the Year
It doesn’t feel real to hear Garth Brooks announce your name into
the Country Radio Hall of Fame but that dream came true for Karen
this March at the opening ceremonies of the Country Radio
Seminar in Nashville. Over two decades of sharing the music and
her life with country fans, Karen is the latest inductee to be included
in the Hall. Graduating from broadcast school in 1982, she headed
to Ypsilanti for her first radio job at “Suds Country” WSDS. In 1992,
Karen was hired at WYCD in her hometown of Detroit where she
would co-host mornings until the legendary WWWW offered her
afternoon drive. After 15 successful years on Detroit airwaves,
Karen accepted the morning show host position at another heritage
country station, WMIL. That was 1998 and she’s now a “fixture” in
the city.
SCOTT
29 Years in Country Radio
2001 CMA Personality of the Year
Scott is the morning show “old-timer” having spent 20 years at
WMIL. Growing up he got hooked on country music listening to his
brother’s honky tonk collections. He was only 20 when he opened
the microphone at WHBF in Rock Island, Illinois and was scared to
death at his first big “emcee” gig introducing Ray Price, Earl Thomas
Conley and Marie Osmond in front of 6000 people. In the 24 years
since then, Scott spent time at KTOM Monterey and WYZM Madison
before he wound up in Milwaukee at WMIL in 1994…the place he
would call “home”.

RADAR
17 Years in Country Radio
Believe it or not, Radar used to be really shy. But then – he got a
recorder for his 12th birthday and would create “pretend” radio
shows with music and sound effects! Naturally, he went into radio.
He started as an intern in 1998 and joined the morning show in
January of 2000 as the producer and “stunt guy.” Now as a regular
team member, he chimes in with his off-the-wall humor and is the
social media wiz of the show! In his free time, Radar volunteers as
the coordinator for the West Allis Wolves and girls basketball
coordinator for the Jr. Huskies!
KAREN, SCOTT & RADAR
Milwaukeens love waking up with Karen, Scott &
Radar because the FM106.1Morning Show is as much
part of their lives as their Friday Fish Fry, tailgating
at Brewer games and......beer! Each member of the
team work hard to make their community a great
place to live by helping causes close to the hearts of
their listeners.
Karen’s “Check Up for Chicks” funded mammograms
to more than 500 women who couldn’t afford them.
At her organization’s fairwell event, Karen distributed
the following:
After Breast Cancer Diagnosis

“Founding Check Up for Chicks to help women
receive needed mammograms has been the most
rewarding work I’ve ever done. My annual
Mammogram Parties made the experience fun for
the ladies and hopefully encouraged them to
become proactive abouth their health.”
- Karen Dalessandro
June 2014 Scott stands alongside
Olympic Gold Medalist and
Milwaukee resident, Bonnie Blair for
the Strain for the Brain Walk/Run.
Hundreds of enthusiastic runners
raised over $100,000 to benefit the
Wisconsin based non-profit that
supports brain cancer research.

Audience members get an inside look into the

Show is one of the most trusted sources for
area events and entertainment.---that’s why

What keeps them going?
“We know each other so well, we know we’re going to have
an easy time with topics. Inside jokes happen all the time,
keeps us laughing.” – Radar
“Scott, Radar and I “balance” each other, which is probably
the reason the show works so well. Each of us have different
strengths that complement one another and it makes good
chemistry.” – Karen
“We see each other as much as our own families. There’s
very little we don’t know about each other or the listeners
don’t know about us.” - Scott
