Hitler instructs his troops as they leave for the
invasion of Poland with the following words:
“Be hard, be ruthless. Act more quickly and brutally
than others... This is the most humanitarian method
of warfare because it frightens people... And now
forward - against the enemy!”
This historic photo pictures Hitler’s Nazi German troops demolishing the
Polish Customs Station as they entered Poland for the initial attack on
September 1, 1939.
Polish Veterans Day at Polanka’s
On Sunday, August 3, 2014, Polonia celebrated Polish Veterans
Day, sponsored by the Polish Army Veterans Association of
Lucyan Chwalkowski Post No. 12, at Polanka, 3258 Knights Road, in
Bensalem, PA.
The day began with Mass celebrated by Rev. Konstanty
Pruszynski, chaplain of the Polish Army Veterans Post 12, followed
by a beautiful program commemorating the 70th Anniversary of
the Warsaw Uprising and the 75th Anniversary of the Invasion
of Poland and the Beginning of World War II. A Polish Soldier’s
dinner followed the program in Polanka’s Ballroom.
Compliments to Dr. Janusz Romanski, the Principal Speaker and
President of Polski Uniwersytet Ludowy, on his beautiful presentation
of the 70th Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. Compliments as
well to Marian Szumal, Commander of the Polish Army Veterans
Post #12, and the Veterans, for helping to keep Polish history alive.
Hitler’s German Nazi Troops attack Poland on September 1, 1939. Cities are
bombed in air attacks, seaports are blockaded and hundreds of thousands
