Massachusetts House of Representatives
Massachusetts Endorsements
Vote Tuesday, November 4, 2008
President
U.S. Senate
Barack Obama
John Kerry
First as a community organizer,
then a State Senator, a U. S.
Senator and now as the Democratic candidate for President,
Barack Obama has been a fighter
for working women and men.
Senator Obama supports workers
rights, opposes privatization, will
protect pensions and Local 589
is proud to endorse Barack Obama.
Senator John Kerry earned the
Boston Carmen’s Union Local 589 endorsement with his
strong pro-worker, pro-union
voting record for 24 years in
the U.S. Senate. Senator Kerry
joined with Local 589 to successfully oppose MBTA privatization and deserves our votes.

Question #1 - Repeal of State Income Tax
Question #3 - Ban of Dog Racing
The repeal of the state income tax
would cut $12.7 billion or 40% of the
state budget revenue. The result would
be a loss of state aid to cities and
towns and higher property taxes
If approved, Question #3 would cause
over 1,000 workers at Massachusetts
dog tracks to lose their jobs.
