Senator Obama supports workers rights, opposes privatization, will protect pensions and Local 589 is proud to endorse Barack Obama. Senator John Kerry earned the Boston Carmen’s Union Local 589 endorsement with his strong pro-worker, pro-union voting record for 24 years in the U.S. Senate. Senator Kerry joined with Local 589 to successfully oppose MBTA privatization and deserves our votes. The result would be a loss of state aid to cities and towns and higher property taxes If approved, Question #3 would cause over 1,000 workers at Massachusetts dog tracks to lose their jobs.
