Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you all took advantage of the Easter weekend to enjoy some quality time with
your families and loved ones.
P&C Sausage Sizzler - Thanks to all parents and staff who came along to the annual
Bunnings sausage sizzle on 19 March. It was a great day and the P&C was able to
raise funds to assist the school with funding the new literacy and history resources
purchased for use across all stages.
Powerhouse Excursion – Students and staff in our support classes are looking forward
to visiting the Powerhouse Museum on Thursday. Please ensure your children wear
full school uniform on the day.
School Photos – Envelopes have been distributed and school photos will be taken on
Wednesday 6 April. Please ensure your children dress in full school uniform.
School Holidays – Next Friday (8 April) is the last day of term one! Where does the
time go? Please remember that Monday 25 April is Anzac Day and Tuesday 26 April is
a staff development day. Students return to school on Wednesday 27 April.
Have a lovely holiday period with your families and friends. We all look forward to an
abundance of exciting teaching and learning experiences and in term two!
Drop Offs and Pick Ups – Please be aware that the ‘No Stopping’ zones outside the
school are not to be parked in at any time. Parking in these zones blocks visibility and
therefore puts our students at risk. These areas are patrolled on a regular basis and
substantial fines may be incurred.

HARMONY DAY
Harmony Day was recognised on Friday 18th March at school. The students and staff
entered into the spirit of the day and wore something orange. At a whole school assembly,
all students sang about Harmony Day, Year 5 and 6 students explained the significance of
the day and three talented students entertained us with music from other countries. Before
the day all students got to decorate a small square. The squares are now joined together to
make a quilt and can be seen in the hall.
This was a very positive day for all our students, giving them the opportunity to think about
the different cultures, languages and lifestyles that people contribute to our community. It
reminds us to take a stand against racism and to promote community harmony.
