FRIDAY HEADLINER
The Cookies, crowd favorite from last year’s Festival on
the Bay, return this year as Friday night’s headliner. The
Cookies are a Motown/dance group from the Grayling/
Gaylord area, comprised of Jakey Thomas, Richie V, Lexie
Lou, and Jakey Baby. Their high-energy live shows delight audiences of all
ages as they move through decades of hits, from 60s Motown to modern
pop. The Cookies performance is sponsored by D&W Fresh Market.
SATURDAY HEADLINER
The Detroit Soul Review band is a nine-piece live band that
features lots of vocals, horns and a locked and loaded rhythm
section. They feature a large selection of soul, funk and rock
tunes that will make it hard to sit still. The brand is new, but the
band is really not - it’s the next incarnation of the long running
Mass Transit Band that has been entertaining Detroit for the
past 30+ years.
The Detroit Soul Review is sponsored by Red Stripe.
FIGHT FOR THE FESTIVAL WINNER
The Fight for the Festival is a competition hosted by City Park
Grill in May. Bands compete for a chance to win a spot on the
Entertainment Tent stage, as well as an interview on KLT’s Garage,
paid performances at City Park Grill and Petoskey’s Fourth of July.
This year’s winner, The Drift, will perform on Saturday at 6:00 p.m..
The Fight for the Festival is sponsored by City Park Grill and Magic
Hat Brewing Company.
for a complete schedule and list of bands, see pages 8 and 9.

Saturday, August 15 - 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Enjoy the best local wine against the backdrop of the sun
setting on Little Traverse Bay. Wineries from the Northwest
Michigan Bay View Wine Trail will be on hand to help you

Michigan unique. Learn about how the region cultivates the

CELEBRATION OF THE SUNSET
Saturday, August 15 - 8:00-9:30 p.m.
Since the original name for Petoskey is Bedosagay, or “where the light shines through the clouds,”
it’s no wonder that Petoskey is now known as the Land of the Million Dollar Sunset. Celebrate the
culture of the Waganakising Odawa as the sun slips behind the waters of Lake Michigan.
Native American flute player Aaron Wayne Otto will perform. He will be joined by speedpainter
Martina Hahn, who will create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
