Grandma and Grandpa Day
The Foundation Phase learners of Curro Heuwelkruin treated their grandparents with a wonderful concert. The
learners took their grandparents on a flight to visit 8 countries around the world. Each class performed a dance from
another country which included Spain, Italy, Brazil and the Netherlands. The learners did not forget about South
Africa, and also performed truly South African dances.

Founder’s Day
Curro Heuwelkruin once again celebrated the establishing of the school in 2008. The celebrations occurred on 11
and 12 April 2014. Founders’ day kicked off on Friday 11:30 with the parade by the respective houses and the official
opening of Founder’s day in the tent. During the offical opening the Junior and Senior Choir performed and
Mr Sybrand van Reede van Oudtshoorn delivered an entertaining and informative speech.

everyone enjoyed the Kloekfees.

Rugby
Rugby tour – Jubaweni 31 March – 4 April 2014
This year Curro Heuwelkruin’s rugby tour was held at Jubaweni. All three rubgy teams went on the tour.
The u/9 team played their first match against Laerskool Wierdapark B and lost the match. Their second match was
against GHS, but unfortunately also lost the match. The last match was against Laerskool Elarduspark where they
lost the tough game.
The u/11 team played five games, in which they won 2, lost 2 and drew 1. They played against the following teams:
Laerskool Simon Bekker, Olienpark, Bergland and Zeerust.
Our 1st team had four tough games against well-established teams such as Menlopark, Garsfontein,Bergland and
Olienpark but showed great courage. Unfortunately they lost all their games.
Thanks to all the parents who supported the teams. The boys learned a lot on the tour and we look forward to this
year’s Rugby season.
