Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a
safe and Happy New Year. If you missed the
New Year’s Party at the Lodge, you missed a
great event. We served prime rib, twice
baked potatoes (prepared by Kathy Osincup),
green beans with bacon, Caesar salad, and
bread pudding. We had 110 members in attendance and a good time was had by all.
New Year’s was celebrated at New York time
and West Coast time. I want to thank all of
the officers who helped make this a successful event. A special thanks to Ted and Kathy
Carpenter, their daughter and son-in-law and
grandchildren for helping. Once again the
Kislingbury’s grandchildren were also a
strong presence and helped serving and clearing plates from the tables. Kathy and Anne
Osincup should be commended for the great
decorations and making the hall so festive.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Activity
Message
We had some great dinners and
activities during the Month of
January starting with the New
Year’s Eve Dinner. We had a 110
members attend the New Year’s
dinner that was put on by the Ebbetts Pass Officers and Past Governors. The menu was Prime Rib,
Twice Baked Potatoes, Green
Beans, Salad, and Bread Pudding
for dessert. It was delicious!
I want to Thank Dan Leary for being the Chairman of this event,
and a special thanks to Jerry &
Kathy Osincup for making the
twice baked potatoes. I need to
thank my wife Kathy Carpenter
for making the wonderful Bread
Pudding with Brandy sauce.
We are starting a new year of Wii
bowling which was lots of fun last
year, if you are interested there is a
signup sheet on the bulletin board or
you can call Tess Leary at 209-7955868 for more information.
WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING
FOR NEW VOLUNTEER COOKS,
SO IF YOU HAVE A FAVORITE
RECIPE THAT YOU WOULD
LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR
MEMBERS YOU SHOULD GIVE
ME A CALL OR e-mail me at
tkcar@sbcglobal.net phone 209-7954428
Recipe of the Month
CORN CASSEROLE
2 cans cream-style corn (15 oz.
cans )
2 eggs
½ cup corn meal
¼ cup oil
½ teas. baking powder
½ cup cheddar cheese, grated
4 ounce canned chilies, diced
Mix all ingredients together and put
in a baking dish 9x13 greased
Bake 1 hour at 350F
Makes 6 – 8 servings
I find that if I bake the casserole in
a larger dish so it’s not very deep, it
bakes a little faster and is not runny
in the middle. You can also set the
oven temperature a little higher.
A Note from The Membership Chairman

MOOSE LEGION NEWS – Bill Osincup, Chairman
There was no Moose Legion meeting in December and the January meeting hasn’t
happened yet as of this writing, so not much to report on the Moose Legion front.
The Safe Surfin’ Child / Senior ID system, that the Moose Legion purchased for the
Lodge has been received. See the Governor’s and Administrator’s messages for
more info on the system. Dan Leary and Bill Kislingbury will be setting up and training
teams to get this program out into the community. Please consider volunteering to
help out with this important program.
Again I’ll repeat that during these winter months with a lot of our members gone until
spring, the Lodge can especially use your support. Try to make it down for one of the
meals or just come by for a beverage and a little camaraderie.
See you all at the next Moose Legion meeting on February 19th at 5:30 pm.
Fraternally Yours, Bill Osincup
