THE DOVER TIMES Obituaries Thomas Sullivan Bobbye Osborn Thomas Sullivan, 85, of Russellville, died May 4, 2016. He was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Rover to Tom H. and Anna A. Castleberry Sullivan. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Maggie Cathey Sullivan; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Nickey and Pat Cathey and David Alan and Angie Cathey; a step-daughter, Johnnie Cathey; a foster son and his wife, Ron and Barb Born; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Nina Sullivan and Paul Sullivan; two sisters and brothers-inlaw, Betty and Fred Ward and Mary Jean and Harvey Sharp; eight step-grandchildren, Josh and Noah Cathey, Cassie Born, Ashley Hobby, Chris Fauber, Hunter, Colton and Colby Elliott; three step-great-grandchildren, Summer, Cody and Landon Cathey. Funeral services were Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Bobbye Jean Gullett Osborn, 82, of Russellville, loving wife of James Osborn, died peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016, with her beloved James at her side. Bobbye was a hairdresser for over 40 years. She valued time with family, loved to feed everyone, and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, James; two sisters, Dean Nolan and Katherine Brown; one brother, Bill Gullett; two sons, Steve Osborn (Cindy) and Stanley Osborn (Beverly); one daughter, Sandy Malloy; twelve grandchildren, Randy Osborn (Nikki), Charlie Osborn (Patricia), Alan Osborn, Shannon Collins, Kojie Collins (Paulina), Heidi Martin (Shaun), David Dollar, Heath Dollar, Heather Dollar, Alex Spradlin, Stephanie Dunning(Chris), and Amanda Harrison (Brian). She also leaves eight great-grandchildren to cherish memories of their loving MeeMee. Funeral services are Wednesday, May 11, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Eleven public meetings will be held throughout the state May 24 and May 26 to discuss chronic wasting disease and the regulations being proposed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in an effort to manage the disease. To date, 82 cases of CWD have been found in Arkansas deer and four more in elk. Currently, the disease has been detected in four counties: Newton, Madison, Pope and Boone. The AGFC continues to collect roadkill samples statewide to send off for testing out of state. Public meetings will be held May 24 in Jonesboro, Monticello, Hot Springs, Russellville, Fayetteville and at the AGFC headquarters in Little Rock. Meetings on May 26 will be held at Brinkley, Camden, Hope, Fort Smith and Mountain Home. An additional public meeting will be held on May 19 at Jasper, near where the first reports of CWD surfaced. One public meeting on May 24 and one on May 26 will be streamed live on the AGFC’s website, www.agfc. com. The AGFC also has scheduled a one-hour broadcast on AETN at 8 p.m., May 23, with a panel discussion about CWD. The agency also will be sending CWD information and deer season regulation proposals by email to the state’s licensed hunters. She will also be feeding these creatures; so come discover the small native wonders we have around us. Lake Cruise –Explore the wonders of Lake Dardanelle and the Arkansas River aboard the state park tour boat. Enjoy abundant wildlife, amazing history, and astounding views of the river valley throughout this 1 hour cruise. There is no fee for the tour, but space is limited. You must register for the tour. The fee is $12 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 years old, under 6 not permitted. Please specify when you sign up if you want a tandem (2 person) or solo kayak.
