Randy "Rockin' Randall" Tucker has been part of the broadcasting
team at The Mid-Shore's
Shore's Top Stations for nearly 20 years. His
Classic Country Request Show is enjoyed every Saturday morning
from 6 til 10am by many fans from the Eastern Shore to California.
The "roots" of Country Music are what I find most interesting,
Randall said recently. With a different featured artist each week
and active request lines, the show really has a personality of it's
own. When he's not on the air, Randall enjoys bowling, grilling,
fishing and traveling.

Navy Fireman Nathaniel Williams of Cambridge, MD, serves aboard USS Louisiana (SSBN 743)
A ‘09 Potomac High School Graduate and Cambridge native is serving aboard on of the U.S. Navy’s nuclearnuclear
powered ballistic missile submarines, living and working at a Navy base in Silverdale, WA. Fireman Nathaniel
Williams is a machinist’s mate (boat’s mechanic) on USS Louisiana (SSBN 743), which is one of the Navy’s 14
Ohio-class
class ballistic missile submarines, also referred to as “boomers”, which patrol the world’s oceans for
months at a time, serving as undetectable launch platforms for submarine-launched
submarine
ballistic missiles. Together
with land-based
based missiles and strategic bombers, the Navy’s Ohio-class
Ohio
submarines are part of the nation’s
strategic nuclear deterrence triad. Because of their stealth, they are considered the most survivable component
of the triad.
As a sailor with numerous responsibilities, Williams said he is learning about himself as a leader, sailor and a
person. “Being in the Navy has made me appreciate spending time with my wife,” Said Williams. Each
member of the crew plays a role in keeping the submarine’s mission readyready this includes everything from
washing dishes and preparing meals to handling weaponry and maintaining the propulsion system.
Because of the demanding nature of service aboard submarines, sailors like Williams are accepted only after
rigorous testing and observation that can last several months. The crews have to be highly motivated, and
adapt quickly to changing conditions.
