As usual, the exhibition will be held in the best season for appreciating bonsai and especially the decidious trees. During the upcomming trophy, we will not only show many kinds of Bonsai and Suiseki, but we also would like to promote international friendship and peace through Bonsai Art. Over 100 sellected Bonsai en Suiseki from Bonsai lovers all over the world are shown in a beautifull venue. One of the major changes this year is the adoption of a few rules from the japanees kokufu exhibition, implying the possibility to receive the first Trophy price for more than only one tree. This edition, we will have a trophy for the overall winner, the winning Kifu, the best decidious tree, and the best Bonsai from a member of the Bonsai Association Belgium and a extra Suiseki price. During the exhibition on saturday and sunday we have 3 Bonsai masters giving simultaneous demonstrations . Taiga Urushibata and Kojï Hiramatsu from Japan, and Mauro Stemberger from Italy. Moreover the traders area will be largely expanted giving room to 80 traders presenting all one needs for our hobby. We can only start to image the selection they will be presenting to everyone. This year Gudrun Benz , together with Elisabeth and Harald Lehner will exhibit a select choice of magnificent Suiseki. Many Bonsai lovers have been interested in living trees and plants for many years. It is somethimes difficult to believe that even the loving care and attention of human beings can transform wild plants into such beautiful Bonsai. I believe I can speak for all Bonsai lovers when I say that our fascination and love for natural plants and dwarf trees is never ending. With our hobby, we are showing feelings with growing trees, plants and Suiseki. Things we all can see and love. We wish everybody a great weekend, The Noelanders committee www.bonsaiassociation.be Program ZATERDAG SAMEDI SAMSTAG SATURDAY 23-01-2016 10.00 – 18.00: Bonsai en Suiseki tentoonstelling Internationale verkoopstanden van bonsai en toebehoren Exposition de bonsaï et suiseki Revendeurs internationaux de bonsaï et accessoires Bonsai- und Suiseki-Ausstellung Internationale Händlerbereich mit Bonsai und Zubehör Exhibition of bonsai and suiseki International commercial stands with bonsai and accessories DEMO Taiga Urushibata (JP) Koji Hiramatsu (JP) Mauro Stemberger (IT) 13.00 -17.00: BONSAI ASSOCIATION BELGIUM Moderators: Peter Warren (UK) and Marc De Beule (BE) 19.30: Diner met prijsuitreiking van de XVIIde Noelanders Trophy Souper et remise des prix du XVIIième Noelanders Trophy Abendessen und Preisverleihung Dinner with prize giving ceremony. A bonsai garden which is kept so clean that you could eat off the floor. He has studied during six years with master Masahiko Kimura. Afterwards he joined his father in the bonsai studio and nursery. In recent years he has become one of Japan’s foremost young bonsai artists. He has given demonstrations and workshops in China, the USA and several European countries. Koji Hiramatsu (JP) Koji Hiramatsu belongs to the 4th generation of the owners of the Hiramatsu shunsho-en bonsai garden. He learned the art and science of bonsai from his father. He is a specialist in shohin, but in his garden we can also find a magnificent collection of large bonsai like black pines. He is a member of the Japan Bonsai Cooperative and of the Japan Shohin Bonsai Cooperative. He is the managing director of the All Japan Shohin Bonsai Association, for which he is also an official demonstrator. Koji Hiramatsu has given several demonstrations and workshops in the USA, India, China, Australia and also in Holland and France. He was a headliner at the 7th World Bonsai Friendship Federation convention and at the Asia-Pacific Bonsai & Suiseki Convention and Exhibition in 2011 when it was held for the first time in Japan He was the chairman of the Takamatsu bonsai convention in 2014. Mauro Stemberger (IT) BONSAI ASSOCIATION BELGIUM Mauro Stemberger was fascinated by bonsai already at the age of fourteen. After following workshops with several European bonsai professionals he founded in 2005 the ‘Italian Bonsai Dream’, a group of bonsai enthusiasts to work and enjoy bonsai art. He is a professional architect since 2006. He has written several articles in the most important bonsai magazines. From 2008 till 2010 he was President of UBI (Italian Bonsai Association). In the most recent years Mauro was asked for demonstrations all over Europe (also by Bonsai Association Belgium) and in the USA, Mexico and Australia. A lot of his work was on large yamadori conifers, but the front picture on this program book is an Alnus of his hands.
