My husband is usually home between 6-6:45pm during the week but tries to have it on the earlier side some days of the week when he can. Going in earlier during the week would not change that much, most of it is due to him working for a smaller business and wearing many hats there. So I may feed the kids before he gets home, but then maybe a snack or dessert is had with him while he eats, so we still have the time together at the table. And sometimes it means we are in the living room after dinner together talking or hanging out too. Weekends we try to eat together too. Actually Friday nights tends to be a night we don't have sports or other activities, so we make sure to not over plan and have time with just the 5 of us and stay together with whatever we may do. A Parishioner Family Prayer: Rosary In the month of October join fellow parishioners in praying the rosary 25 minutes before each Sunday (Saturday evening also) Mass. We will pray for these two intentions: (1) the strengthening of families at Ascension and St. Bernard and (2) the conversion of terrorists/world peace. Two members of a particular family will lead some of these rosaries: fatherdaughter; grandfather-grandson; mother-son—i.e. Family Prayer! I will be away on retreat from October 26th after Masses through Oct. 31st. There will not be weekday Masses that week. I have another priest covering for emergencies and will leave his number on my office phone voicemail. You will be in my prayers. Please pray for me. Fr. Gregory CALENDAR FOR ASCENSION AND ST. Questions please contact Monica Kooiman at 952-466-5769 or mkooiman@centurylink.net St. Bernard Preschool Accreditation: We are always taking the opportunities for making improvements in school. Many preschools in the state of Minnesota joined in the NAEYC’S (National Association for Education of Young Child) accreditation process. Our school was registered to go through the accreditation process in last January. Part of the expenses was paid by the agency. It was almost a year long process of setting up the classroom and also with suggested materials. St. Bernard had the accreditation visit on September 30th. We had all the required elements. We now are waiting for the certificate. Accreditation has helped the school improve the preschool curriculum and challenge our students to think creatively. Church of the Ascension Norwood Young America, MN The Appalachia Project Volunteers are welcome to help with packing donations for the Appalachian project on Tues Oct. 21st after morning Mass (approx. 8 a.m.).
