Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue (JBAR) Advocating humane and healthy practices for animals in the Jaltemba area of Mexico, by promoting health, education, sterilization, adoptions, foster care and positive relationships with animals and their owners. December 2003 to October 2015: During this time, there were 21 clinics and 5,121 animals spayed or neutered in the Jaltemba Bay Area! JBAR Statistics January to July 2015: Total Animals Sterilized: 520 Total Vaccinations: 90 Total Medical Treatments: 95 Total Number of Surgeries: 12 Total Number of Adoptions: 35 Clinic Update! Our next clinic takes place from Wednesday, November 4th to Saturday, November 7th at the hacienda of Sue and Del Moss. Many thanks to Sue and Del for their continued generosity. In addition to our Mexican medical team of Dr. Anthony Garcia Carrillo, Dr. Poly Lopez and tech Leslie Caratachea from Pets for Life, we are fortunate to have vets and vet techs volunteering to help us spay and neuter more animals…twelve in total! Thank you to for volunteering your time: McKenzie Veterinary Services: Victoria: Dr. Malcolm Macartney South Burnaby Vet Hospital: Dr. Cal Buxton, Tiffany, Madeline Shaughnessy Vet Hospital: Jan Werger and Laura Crichton Prevost Vet Clinic, Duncan: Dr. Jen Butler, Nancy Wilson and Amanda Banakker Saseenos Veterinary Services, Sooke: Dr. Naima Jutha, Jessa Coukell Nova Scotia: Dr. Donna Sprachlin, retired There will be an orientation at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4th for all volunteers. We need the following supplies: ~Dog sized polar sheets which keep the animals warm and are easy to wash and dry ~Old sheets and towels ~Kennels of all sizes ~Muzzles, Collars and leashes (available at dollar stores) In addition, we need lunches, snacks and drinks for our volunteers! Please consider helping out….fruit, veggies, sandwiches, soup, pasta, pizza. Mex-Can Vet Project ”Meet And Sniff” Event in Victoria Many thanks to all the people who supported the Mexi-Can Vet Project Fiesta by donating to our Meet and Sniff Fiesta this past Sunday. There were more than 50 of our “doggy alumni” there! Thank you, Paul and Tom~ Adoptions: Teddy Adopted Cookie Adopted Panther Adopted Paloma Adopted Many thanks to Stephanie for finding fostering these street dogs and helping to find homes for them. For Adoption Daniel and Sofia, owners of Chasite Coffee House, have rescued and are currently fostering the following animals in La Peñita for adoption: Kittens, one Male and one Female, Kimba(F) y Combo (M) which has a little darker spot. Twin lab mix totally black pups. For Adoption Two Chihuahuas: Ahuebela (3.5 years old approximately) and her son, Freddy, (1 1/2 years old) Wonderful playmates. Thank you, Daniel and Sofia! For Adoption Pompei: male, poodle mix, small medium size, 1 1/2 years approx. This is a lovely dog. He is calm and very friendly. Would be wonderful companion for single or a family. Gentle kind spirit. Flaco: male, 7 months, medium size. He is happy to be alive, loves everyone. He arrived with a fractured leg, but with Celia's treatment, he is walking on it and doing quite well. Kind and gentle soul. Great with others and children. For Adoption Muñeca: a poodle mix, female, 2 years? Friendly and so lovable. Great for family Or a companion. These 3 litter mate puppies are beautiful,now. Abandoned at the gas station, in bad shape are doing wonderful now. LUCKY, MOCHA AND MANCHES: all 3 are female, 6 months old, and are beautiful. Possible German short hair mix? Lovely pups and will be medium in size. Great family or companion dogs. Glad to be alive! Cangudo: 6 month male, medium size. This dog has a will to live. Found with a terribly fractured left hind leg. It was pinned, cast and well treated. He walks on it with a bit of a limp. But he will be your best friend. He is so glad to be alive and he will let you know that! This is Pinky: An adorable Chihuahua male, 3 years old. He is very social with other dogs, loves attention. Wonderful adult companion. Shy with little children.
