A word from the Pastor…
You are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God
through Christ… Paul
Through Christ, you have made us true sons, Father. Help us today to live
like your sons. Deliver us from being rebel children who bring pain and
hurt to the world. Rather lead us that we might be the most useful sons
possible.
Endow us throughout the day with the attitude of an humble mind. Deliver us from pride which declares that we know everything, possess all the
answers to life’s complicated questions, and can handle all difficult situations. Proud minds are closed minds, Father. We need the spirit of an
humble mind that we might ever learn new truths, new methods, and new
facts.
Endow us with an humble spirit today, we pray. Only as we possess an
humble spirit can we discover the beauty of service both to man and to
Christ. Pride is the shutter which closes the window, inhibiting us from
seeing righteousness, true beauty, and God’s wholeness in life. So we
pray for an humble spirit that we may see great things clearly and handle
tangled problems well with no thought of personal gain.
What you have just read is an excerpt from Dr. Henry Fields’ new book,
“Conversations With God: Daily Prayer Meditations” (p. 73, Sons of
God). I chose this prayer with Father’s Day in mind. This is Dr. Fields’
fifth book, and I can tell you first hand that the prayers are inspirational
and thought provoking. I share this with you because I want you to know
that you can purchase this book in the church office for $15.00, and all of
the proceeds will be given to the Benevolent Ministry of the church. I
want to thank Dr. Fields for sharing this gift with us and for his unwavering desire to give to others.
I look forward to worshipping together on Father’s Day!
David

We are leaving for Student Life camp this Monday! Please make sure
you are at the church no later than 7:45 a.m. The bus will be leaving at
8:00 a.m. This should be an incredible week at camp, and I am looking
forward to sharing it with each person going. This is also a great time
for our church family to be in prayer for the students and adults going
on this trip. God can work how He wants and when He wants, but many
times He chooses to work at camps like this. Pray for our students’
safety and for their lives to be changed by the Gospel. I hope everyone
has a wonderful week, and I look forward to seeing each of you soon!

“Oh come let us sing with joy to the Lord!” What a privilege it is
for me to be able to stand in front of the congregation and lead
in the singing! Music is such a vital part of worship, and this
church is blessed to have people in each service who faithfully
come to rehearsal each week and are committed to preparing
quality music for worship. It is so very encouraging to the
choir and praise team for the congregation to join in the singing. For the past few Sundays the congregational singing has
been so inspiring to those of us who are leading in worship! I
look forward to our worship services and am truly blessed by
you, the congregation, as we join our voices in praise and worship to our Lord!
