At Wednesday Morning, 9 April, we shall continue to view and discuss the video on Pope John Paul II. We shall have the Service of the Holy Cross every Friday of Lent at 7pm. On the Fridays of Lent, all Maronites who are physically able are to abstain from meat. A contribution of $10.00 will memorialize a loved one for the entire week. Fish Frys. As part of abstaining from meat on the Fridays of Lent, we will continue our tradition of serving Baked and Fried Fish Dinners in the Church Hall from 4pm until 7pm on Fridays. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. This is an opportunity to gather in fellowship before Service of the Holy Cross at 7pm. VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE Saint Joseph Society. The Saint Joseph Society wishes to thank members, bakers, workers and parishioners for their support for our very successful bake sale. Vocation Discernment Weekend. On 4-6 April, Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Seminary in Washington, DC will be hosting its annual Discernment Weekend for men, 18 and over, interested in finding God’s will in their life. This weekend will be a chance to meet current seminarians, Father Geoffrey Abdallah, Rector of the seminary, the Vocation Directors, and the opportunity to sight see one of the greatest cities in the world. This weekend is open for men who feel the call to priesthood, or are interested in finding out how to discern God’s will. Please speak to Father John or Father Elias if you are interested. Hard as Nails Ministry. On 5-6 April we shall be welcoming a Catholic group of young people to the parish who are involved in a special ministry of evangelization and renewal. Visit www.hanm.org On Saturday, 5 April they will meet with the MYO and MYA and their friends. We shall open with a lunch at 12:30pm and the program will go from 1:30-3pm. All of us can hear from them at the Divine Liturgy either on Saturday at 4pm or Sunday at 10am. Murder Mystery Dinner. There will be a Murder Mystery Dinner “Low Noon” sponsored by Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish on Saturday, 5 April at 6pm at the Italian Heritage Club, 644 Bleecker Street, Utica. The cost is $35 a person. For more information, call Joe or Laurie Siniscarco at 797-8238. Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School Raffle. Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High School still has some tickets left for its raffle. First prize is $50,000! There are also 16 other money prizes. Only 2,000 tickets are being sold at $80 each. The drawing is on Sunday, 27 April, 2014. Your ticket is your admission to our Drawing party at Notre Dame with FREE unlimited food and refreshments and a chance to win special door prizes.
