ULMA Lazkao Forging is the partner you need for
the highest quality in forged products. Our products
are built to last, with excellent adherence to the most
exacting specifications, and all at competitive prices.
QUALITY FORGING
CERTIFICATION AND TESTING
ULMA Lazkao Forging manufactures products from the following materials, among
others:
CARBON STEEL
NICKEL ALLOYS
WIDE EXPERIENCE
WHY CHOOSE FORGING?
Carbon steel is an alloy of carbon and
steel, available in several grades according
to the amount of carbon in the mix, from
low to very high. Forgings made from
carbon steel are known for their strength,
ductility, hardness, and impact resistance.
Inconel® and Hastelloy® are but two
common examples of the wide variety of
alloys containing nickel. The increased
ductility that nickel brings to alloys makes
it ideal for many applications. We can offer
you forgings made of an extensive range
of nickel alloys.
ULMA Lazkao Forging is a leading player
in many different markets. Our cuttingedge technology and years of experience
have led us into the following industries:
The forging process is capable of producing a much
stronger piece than can be manufactured simply
through the processes of casting, machining or
welding. Forging rearranges the internal grain of
the metal, forcing it to align with the shape of the
piece, eliminating pockets of low density and gas
infiltration, and producing a highly resilient and
durable finished piece.
ALLOY STEELS
MONEL® ALLOYS
Alloy steels containing one or more of a
long list of alloying elements can be used
— chromium, molybdenum, manganese
and many more — with and without heat
treatment, to produce forgings with a
wide range of performance-enhancing
properties. Consult us regarding your
specific needs.
Monel® is the trademark name applied to
a series of nickel and copper alloys. These
alloys are extremely resistant to corrosion
and acids, and are therefore highly prized
in marine applications and environments
where there will be exposure to harsh
acids and corrosive media.
STAINLESS STEELS
COPPER
The addition of chromium and other
alloying elements produces the special
properties of the steels in the stainless
steel range, including excellent resistance
to corrosion and impacts, and high
strength, among other virtues. Many of
these forgings can be further hardened
through heat treatment.
The reddish-orange tone of this naturally
malleable metal is familiar to everyone,
having been in use for thousands of years.
It is prized in alloys for adding to impact
resistance, strength and hardness.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE ALLOYS
High-performance or “superalloys” are
used in the most demanding applications,
where their excellent creep resistance
at high temperatures, good mechanical
strength and surface stability, and
resistance to the processes of corrosion
and oxidation are vital. A wide range of
forgings can be produced depending on
your specific performance needs.
ALUMINUM
Aluminum is widely used in many industries,
and readily alloys with other metals. Its
corrosion resistance is excellent, and in
alloys it can greatly improve mechanical
properties.
TITANIUM
Extremely strong, fatigue- and corrosionresistant, low-weight and low-density pieces
can be manufactured with titanium and its
alloys. When its high strength-to-weight
ratio and resistance to acids, chemicals, salt
water and corrosion in general are needed,
titanium is the choice.

Strength, hardness, ductility, and other
important properties are all conferred by the
often-vital heat treatment process. ULMA
Lazkao Forging offers heat treatment services
that include annealing, process annealing, full
annealing, normalizing and tempering,
and
spheroidizing. Final quenching and tempering
can then occur to bring the materials into line
with whatever material properties the customer
has specified.
ULMA Lazkao Forging is a closed-die forging shop
offering products of exceptional quality. Closed-die
or impression-die forging, as it is also often called,
offers all the advantages of open-die forging, while
allowing you to control the final three-dimensional
shape of the piece as no other process can. ULMA
Lazkao Forging offers closed-die forgings that
range from 1 to 750 kilos.

ROUGH MACHINING
Our customers can reduce machining time
quite significantly with ULMA Lazkao Forging
rough machining services. Our forgings can be
rough machined to close to net shapes, saving
you time and money, both in machining and
transportation costs.
A destructive test may be carried out on
an extra forging piece, a test coupon, or the
projecting end of a piece that is broken off the
final forging. A piece can then be tested until the
point of failure for such parameters as tensile
strength, stress rupture, impact strength, etc.
We have four kinds of Level II-III nondestructive testing (NDT) at ULMA Lazkao
Forging: ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid
penetrant, and x-ray. These tests do not harm
the forgings and can be carried out on final
pieces.
Specifications and Standards:
ULMA Lazkao Forging works to all
the most widely recognized standards
and specifications, ASTM, ASME, DIN,
EN, ISO, etc., and welcomes your own
proprietary specifications as well.
Our systems, processes and operations
are certified to ISO 9001 standards,
as awarded by LLOYD’S REGISTER
QUALITY ASSURANCE. They are
reviewed continuously and audited by
internal quality audits and third-party
inspection agencies.

QUALITY FORGING
CERTIFICATION AND TESTING
ULMA Lazkao Forging manufactures products from the following materials, among
others:
CARBON STEEL
NICKEL ALLOYS
WIDE EXPERIENCE
WHY CHOOSE FORGING?
Carbon steel is an alloy of carbon and
steel, available in several grades according
to the amount of carbon in the mix, from
low to very high. Forgings made from
carbon steel are known for their strength,
ductility, hardness, and impact resistance.
Inconel® and Hastelloy® are but two
common examples of the wide variety of
alloys containing nickel. The increased
ductility that nickel brings to alloys makes
it ideal for many applications. We can offer
you forgings made of an extensive range
of nickel alloys.
ULMA Lazkao Forging is a leading player
in many different markets. Our cuttingedge technology and years of experience
have led us into the following industries:
The forging process is capable of producing a much
stronger piece than can be manufactured simply
through the processes of casting, machining or
welding. Forging rearranges the internal grain of
the metal, forcing it to align with the shape of the
piece, eliminating pockets of low density and gas
infiltration, and producing a highly resilient and
durable finished piece.
ALLOY STEELS
MONEL® ALLOYS
Alloy steels containing one or more of a
long list of alloying elements can be used
— chromium, molybdenum, manganese
and many more — with and without heat
treatment, to produce forgings with a
wide range of performance-enhancing
properties. Consult us regarding your
specific needs.
Monel® is the trademark name applied to
a series of nickel and copper alloys. These
alloys are extremely resistant to corrosion
and acids, and are therefore highly prized
in marine applications and environments
where there will be exposure to harsh
acids and corrosive media.
STAINLESS STEELS
COPPER
The addition of chromium and other
alloying elements produces the special
properties of the steels in the stainless
steel range, including excellent resistance
to corrosion and impacts, and high
strength, among other virtues. Many of
these forgings can be further hardened
through heat treatment.
The reddish-orange tone of this naturally
malleable metal is familiar to everyone,
having been in use for thousands of years.
It is prized in alloys for adding to impact
resistance, strength and hardness.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE ALLOYS
High-performance or “superalloys” are
used in the most demanding applications,
where their excellent creep resistance
at high temperatures, good mechanical
strength and surface stability, and
resistance to the processes of corrosion
and oxidation are vital. A wide range of
forgings can be produced depending on
your specific performance needs.
ALUMINUM
Aluminum is widely used in many industries,
and readily alloys with other metals. Its
corrosion resistance is excellent, and in
alloys it can greatly improve mechanical
properties.
TITANIUM
Extremely strong, fatigue- and corrosionresistant, low-weight and low-density pieces
can be manufactured with titanium and its
alloys. When its high strength-to-weight
ratio and resistance to acids, chemicals, salt
water and corrosion in general are needed,
titanium is the choice.

destructive and

Strength, hardness, ductility, and other
important properties are all conferred by the
often-vital heat treatment process. ULMA
Lazkao Forging offers heat treatment services
that include annealing, process annealing, full
annealing, normalizing and tempering,
and
spheroidizing. Final quenching and tempering
can then occur to bring the materials into line
with whatever material properties the customer
has specified.
ULMA Lazkao Forging is a closed-die forging shop
offering products of exceptional quality. Closed-die
or impression-die forging, as it is also often called,
offers all the advantages of open-die forging, while
allowing you to control the final three-dimensional
shape of the piece as no other process can. ULMA
Lazkao Forging offers closed-die forgings that
range from 1 to 750 kilos.

ROUGH MACHINING
Our customers can reduce machining time
quite significantly with ULMA Lazkao Forging
rough machining services. Our forgings can be
rough machined to close to net shapes, saving
you time and money, both in machining and
transportation costs.
A destructive test may be carried out on
an extra forging piece, a test coupon, or the
projecting end of a piece that is broken off the
final forging. A piece can then be tested until the
point of failure for such parameters as tensile
strength, stress rupture, impact strength, etc.
We have four kinds of Level II-III nondestructive testing (NDT) at ULMA Lazkao
Forging: ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid
penetrant, and x-ray. These tests do not harm
the forgings and can be carried out on final
pieces.
Specifications and Standards:
ULMA Lazkao Forging works to all
the most widely recognized standards
and specifications, ASTM, ASME, DIN,
EN, ISO, etc., and welcomes your own
proprietary specifications as well.
Our systems, processes and operations
are certified to ISO 9001 standards,
as awarded by LLOYD’S REGISTER
QUALITY ASSURANCE. They are
reviewed continuously and audited by
internal quality audits and third-party
inspection agencies.
