AUXILIARY PRESIDENT’S COMMENTS
As you read this newsletter, plans are in the “make
ready” stage for the work details to be accomplished on
Sat, Oct 3rd and Sat, Oct 10th. It’s going to take a lot of
manpower to complete the refurbishment of the deck,
campground and other areas around the post. Please
volunteer some of your time to assist in this effort. At
our Sep meeting we discussed the water system. A program will be presented to lot lease residents to inform
them of the options we have concerning the water system at 9am on Sat, Oct 10th. I realize there is a lot going on that day, but it’s the most opportune time to
present the information to residents prior to our voting
on the water system at our October meeting. It is vitally important that everyone know and understand the
avenues of approach that we will take in upgrading the
water system.
Be good, be careful, and especially, be proud of your
post.
Bill Phillips
Thanks everyone who attended our September
meeting. Our Dist 1 President Rose Mary Wells and last
year’s Dist 1 President Vicky Dickerson were in attendance. Thanks to all for making them feel welcome. Our
annual audit by Rose Mary went very well.
We welcome all of the new male members to the newly formed VFW Auxiliary.
Thank you Debra Crouch, Serene Halley and Priscilla
McMurry for visiting the Pottsboro Schools and handing
out patriotic material. Thanks everyone who worked so
hard on the Labor of Love, it was a great success. Thank
you Priscilla McMurry for your hard work on all the programs in September.
We need side dishes on Oct 3rd to go with chicken
wings for 30 volunteer workers from Lowe’s and the post
who will be on site to work on the deck from 10am-2pm.
We also need help again on Oct 10th, same time 10am2pm, to cut up items to go with hamburgers and hotdogs
for the same volunteer group on site again to work on
the campground and other outside areas. Please let me

The 2015 7th Annual Labor of Love Event held Sep 4-6 was a great
success. Over $13,000 was raised and will be donated to the National Military Service Program (which includes the Military Assistance
Plan, Operation Uplink & Unmet Needs) and local VFW initiatives,
such as helping local veterans in need and post maintenance, renovation and equipment.
