Advertising feature Ventura Design a safe bet for success at Racecourse Gate show houses Ventura Design, headed by Californian born Arlene McIntyre, has made its mark in Ireland and internationally over the past 15 years. Renowned for its attention to detail; smart solutions; flexible approach; industry knowledge and bulging contacts book, Ventura Design has built up a vast portfolio of domestic and commercial projects, with the latest now underway in Co. Kildare. Arlene’s expert eye, creative spirit and practical thinking saw her establish a trusted team of professionals offering a complete turnkey service. Whatever the project and budget, the Ventura team brought the same level of energy and enthusiasm, elevating interiors out of the ordinary. Arlene’s impeccable design credentials quickly got noticed, as its work on show houses and at exhibitions saw her attract clients throughout Ireland and abroad. One of its projects was the show house for Ballymore in College Square, Terenure, a hugely successful launch for the company in May 2014. Currently the focus is on two units at an exciting new launch, Racecourse Gate in Naas. The Ventura Design signature elegance can be seen on numerous other schemes, profiled on its website, www.ventura.ie The Ideal Homes exhibition in the RDS is a regular stop-off for Ventura Design which worked on the main show house there for two years in a row. One was themed as ‘The Hamptons’ while the other was ‘The Great Gatsby.’ These eye-catching looks resulted in extensive coverage on television and in interiors magazines. Arlene and her team have worked with many high profile people over the years, providing a discreet and highly efficient one-stop service that leaves nothing to chance. A full installation service is overseen by Ventura Design’s project manager. From opulent 7,000 sq ft private homes to modish contemporary apartments and individual room transformations, the Ventura Design team has helped countless clients to achieve their dream schemes. For new builds, they can prepare a full interior designed proposal of ideas, with floor plans and a breakdown of costs. Traversing the globe to attend all the major trade fairs and source new collections, Arlene and the client-focused team also produce and manufacture their own fabulous furnishings. These include bespoke dining tables and chairs; handcrafted Italian crystal chandeliers; sinkin sofas; and five-star hotel style headboards. A full curtain making service is available, with an extensive range of fabrics in Ventura’s design studio for both upholstery and curtains. A joinery service is also offered, incorporating built-in bespoke bookcases, wall panelling and vanity units. For a specialised interior design service on a one-to-one basis, the Ventura Design showroom at Ballycoolin works by appointment only. The Ventura Collection retail store in Santry operates on a drop-in basis, where the array of covetable furnishings and accessories are complemented by an interior design service. Curtain making is a major aspect of the business, and there are hundreds of designer fabrics from which to choose. Ventura Design manufactures and produces its own line of dining tables which come in eight different finishes and styles. It also makes its own dining chairs, with the custom chandeliers handcrafted in Florence. Keen to offer clients the very best of textiles, Arlene has travelled extensively and her collection will be sold into the Irish market later this year for upholstery and curtains. Ventura Design also supplies other interior design consultancies around Ireland with its exclusive range of products. “Many of our clients are timepressed professionals who avail of our complete project management service, safe in the knowledge that we will take care of everything from flooring and painting to curtains and cabinetry,” says Arlene. “A lot of homeowners contact us because they find it hard to put their ideas into action and need professional guidance in devising effective layout and design,” she says. “Some feel completely overwhelmed when it comes to making the most of their new home or extension and describe themselves as being ‘stuck’” outlines Arlene. “We help them see the wood from the trees, creating a harmonious home that reflects their individual tastes, needs and lifestyle. Our aim is to improve the quality of their lives through interior design and this doesn’t always have to involve a big spend. Sometimes a new layout can do away with the need for an extension. We analyse what’s working All furnishings on display in both show houses are available from Ventura Design’s head office on 01 8208480 email info@ventura.ie, www.ventura.ie and what’s not in existing schemes and come up with smart solutions.” When it came to the four bedroom detached and semi-detached show houses at Castlekeel Ltd’s upmarket Racecourse Gate, Naas, Arlene and her team relished the opportunity to unleash their creativity on a blank canvas. “In the semi-detached family home, we went for a warm cosy colour scheme with French oak floors. Golden tones of ochre and cream flow throughout,” says Arlene. “This home has a younger feel throughout, featuring geometric shapes in our fabrics and artwork. Taking centre stage is one of our bespoke round dining tables which are available in a choice of different colour combinations in Farrow & Ball paint,” she says. This key piece is set off with six custom Ventura dining chairs in cream herringbone linen. A silver globe light centred overhead casts an inviting glow. Upstairs, there is cuteness overload in the nursery and the girl’s and boy’s room, beautifully decked out in fresh contemporary designs. Ventura Design supplied and fitted on-trend grey oak flooring for the detached family home show house. “The emphasis in this home is on sophisticated grown-up glamour,” remarks Arlene. Striking teal wallpaper from Zoffany sets the luxe mood in the living room, complemented by sateen silk curtains and a velvet chenille Belgian rolled arm sofa and arm chair. Two hand painted console tables are set each side of the fireplace, with one of Ventura Design’s handcrafted ‘Bella’ crystal chandeliers adding to the ambience. The custom-made dining table is in an antique oak/walnut toned finish, with eight ‘Tobacco’ chairs featuring silver back hooks lined up in anticipation of culinary delights. The overall effect is one of chic comfort and understated luxury that facilitates modern day family living. “We are thrilled to be working in the vibrant town of Naas which is constantly expanding, with the new Kerry Group location there among the many recent positive developments,” says Arlene.
