Do You Fast Before Communion?
A one-hour fast should be observed before receiving the Eucharist. It
is seen as a small sacrifice on our part to thank Jesus for the sacrifice
He made for us. This means no food, and no drinks other than water.
If you have health issues, the fas ng does not apply.
It is never appropriate to eat or drink in church. This includes all food,
drinks, mints, and gum. Aside from the Eucharist, it is never
appropriate to eat or drink in church.
