PUSPAKOM had an unforgettable experience
during the DRB-HICOM Environmental Awareness
Programme at Zoo Negara in October 2014.
The day-long programme saw our Sahabat
DRB-HICOM volunteers who braved the hot
weather and rain whilst assisting zookeepers
provide daily care for the animals including
exhibit cleaning, food preparation and animal
behavioural activities.
The volunteers were also given the opportunity to
get close to some of the animals and learn as much
as they can about wildlife conservation.
To further show our support for wildlife
conservation, DRB-HICOM adopted a lovable
Bornean Orangutan named Kathy, who was more
than happy to pose for a few shots for us that day.
PUSPAKOM on the other hand adopted a
Red-legged Pademelon, continuing their wildlife
conservation efforts with Zoo Negara which
began last year.

DRB-HICOM Presents
“P. Ramlee The Musical”
I
t was a night to remember for everyone as we revisited the past and relived the life of one of the most iconic
figures in Malaysian history, Allahyarham Tan Sri P. Ramlee. A night dazzled with stars and showcasing
the entertaining life story of one of the most famous men in Malaysia, had the crowd amused and captivated
about his past, his relationships throughout his life, as well as how he made a name for himself and cemented
his name as one of the most prolific entertainers to have had the honour of entertaining fans of all ages.
The cast was indeed a gifted bunch and it was shown through the great chemistry they shared on stage, in
addition to the applause that filled the entire Istana Budaya. The main role of P. Ramlee was played by Tony
Eusoff, with Lisa Surihani as P. Ramlee’s first wife Junaidah, Puan Sri Datin Sri Tiara Jacquelina as the second
wife Norizan and Nadia Aqilah Bajuri as P. Ramlee’s third wife, Saloma.
The production, which was played throughout October from the 3rd until the 13th, was the third occasion P.
Ramlee life story shown in a musical theatre, in the heart of KL. DRB-HICOM was the Presenting Sponsor for
the musical, and members of the management and staff were given the opportunity to witness the spectacular
performances on the first day. The show lasted for almost 3 hours with thrilling excitement. Without a doubt
the musical was one of the best shows ever to have been presented.
Overall, the show was a huge success for the organisers, sponsors, and the audience. The play took a different
approach this time around as compared to the previous versions of the same historical display as the story was
grounded on P. Ramlee’s life from the eyes of the women he had loved and married throughout his life but most
importantly, the show featured the perspective of P. Ramlee himself.

Stylish, Practical and Efficient
– It’s the New Suzuki S-CROSS!
S
uzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd today welcomed the new Suzuki S-CROSS. The Suzuki S-CROSS
enters the Malaysian automotive market boasting a unique balance of technology, safety, space and
versatility unlike any other offering in its segment.
The S-CROSS’s physical structure, for one, is a result of intense aerodynamics-focused computer-aided
engineering while the chassis itself is made of high-rigidity and lightweight materials. These characteristics help
to heighten the S-CROSS’s performance, stability and fuel economy.
Powering the Suzuki S-CROSS is a lightweight, low-friction 1.6-litre petrol engine which produces a healthy
86kW (117hp) at 6,000rpm and 156Nm at 4,400rpm. It is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission
(CVT) which propels the front wheels of the 2WD S-CROSS. These efficient technologies combine to make the
Suzuki S-CROSS one of the most economical cars of its class, returning an official fuel consumption rating of
just 17.2km/L under the UNECE R101 New European Driving Cycle (NEDC Cycle).
The fuel-saving properties of Suzuki S-CROSS are not achieved by compromising on sheer performance. It is
still a highly capable machine in a straight line, doing 0-100kph in a respectable 11.0 seconds. Even more
impressive is its mid-range performance. The S-CROSS dispatches 40-80kph in 5.3 seconds and 80-120kph in
just 9.2 seconds, better than any other crossover in the same segment. This is due to Suzuki’s expertise in
lightweight engineering – the S-CROSS tips the scale with a kerb weight of less than 1,185kg.

massive traffic jams which was due to roads closure,
the festive atmosphere can be felt along the way
when local residents came out to witness the slow
pace movements of the gigantic vessels.
The procurement of these machines is in line with
CTRM’s expansion plan to further strengthen its
existing capabilities and to support customers
requirements for current and future aero-structure
projects. The autoclave 10 and 11 with outer length
measurement of 50’ and 60’ respectively will be
parked in the newest CTRM Building 5.
Autoclaves are pressure vessels used to process
parts and materials which require exposure to
elevated pressure and temperature. The manufacture
of high-performance components from advanced
composites often requires autoclave processing.
The autoclave applies both heat and pressure to the
workload placed inside of it.
Parts processed in an autoclave are often
vacuum-bagged to enable the pressure to operate
isostatically on the work pieces. In simplest form, the
workload is fully contained inside a loosely fitting
bag made of resilient plastic capable of
withstanding the temperatures involved. When
vacuum is drawn, the bag is compressed by
atmospheric pressure and compact the components
inside. Between the parts and the bag, an absorbent
material provides a channel for the evacuation of the
air and wicks up the excess resin squeezed out
during curing.
CTRM expects more autoclaves to arrive in 2015.

Some parts of the roads were unevenand muddy.
The trucks also had to go through tight corners, that
seemed impossible for the trucks to maneuver its way
through. It was a nervy start as we arrived at each
obstacle. With good weight management, thanks to

Pengertian dan Sejarah
Awal Muharram
H
Bermulanya kisah perpindahan Rasulullah S.A.W dan para sahabat r.a
Hijrah kerana menuntut ilmu, mencari
kebenaran, berjihad, berdakwah, mencari nafkah, kerana perniagaan
meninggalkan
kejahatan,
maka dia
menjauhinya.”
(Hadis riwayat
Ahmad)
Erti Ayat Al Baqarah 91:
bahawa Rasulullah S.A.W bersabda:
“Orang yang berhijrah ialah orang yang meninggalkan kejahatan, maka dia menjauhinya.” (Hadis riwayat
Ahmad)

Planning a trip with kids
T
ravelling with kids can be daunting. Especially since
it’s their first longdistance flight. At the time, my son
was four years old and my daughter was 20 months old.
Surprisingly, the flight to LA was a breeze. I guess they
were ecstatic to finally meet Mickey Mouse and the gang.
The flight back to Malaysia however, was a different story.
Disneyland Anaheim was everything we could ever
imagined, and more. The kids really enjoyed their time at
both the Disneyland Park and the Disney California
Adventure Park. They met all their favourite Disney
characters, saw the Disney Junior show which was really
entertaining and took some rides around the park. As it
was a busy weekend, we did have to queue up for more
than three hours, just so my kids could snap a shot with
Anna and Elsa of Frozen, but seeing their smiles made it
all worthwhile. After three days in Anaheim, we were off
to Vegas.

Final Stop - Venice Beach

he last few days were spent at a house near Venice
Beach. We visited the Santa Monica Pier and took a
stroll on Venice Beach Boardwalk which is definitely a
very unique place with street vendors selling mostly
homemade items and street performers entertaining
passing crowds by performing their unusual talents. There
were skate parks and of course the famous Muscle Beach.
Last few days were more of relaxing by the beach and
getting as much rest as possible before the trip back
home. And before we knew it, it was time to head home
and end our Californian adventure.

Expectations and perceptions go
hand in hand too. If you promise
too much and deliver only partially,
then you will be perceived as a
failure.
But
if
you

easier to be seen as succeeding or

that when the mind is focused on

the outcome. We should not allow
