wellington wind symphony wellington wind symphony Formed in 1981 and based in the Waterloo Region, the Wellington Wind Symphony (formerly Wellington Winds) is a concert band of Central Ontario’s finest musicians. Daniel Warren – Music Director* Michael Purves-Smith – Conductor Laureate This is the Wellington Wind Symphony 35th season of outstanding, entertaining concerts that present varied programs of the best of familiar music and also new music that has appeal to a wide audience. The Winds concerts are known for their informal approach and enjoyable commentary. The Wellington Wind Symphony has released a number of CDs and a DVD about the Wellington Wind Symphony featuring great music and interviews. His recent conducting duties include Resident Conductor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and Interim Artistic Advisor and conductor for Orchestra London Canada. He is in frequent demand as a guest conductor and Daniel Warren has done so across Canada with many orchestras Music Director including the Toronto Symphony, the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Edmonton Symphony.
