Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences Learning Resource Center Katie Chan About Uniformed Service University for the Health Sciences (USUHS) The mission of USUHS (2013) is to “…educate and prepare uniformed services health professionals, officers and leaders to directly support the Military Health System…” Projects and Responsibilities During my field study my projects included: Constructing a display board on disaster preparedness apps for medical students. Designing a medical student textbook corner. Graduate programs include: • F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine; • Biomedical sciences and public health; • Graduate School of Nursing; • Postgraduate Dental College. Developing an instructional video on basic search techniques. Leading a staff workshop on apps for personal emergency preparedness. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) The LRC supports the mission of USUHS by providing access to physical and electronic resources, research support, and library and research instruction. In addition, I have been assisting with library and research instruction, updating content on the online medical student portal and compiling data used for annual reporting.
