All things are vanity!” In Luke's gospel Jesus tells the parable of the rich man storing up treasures for the future, and he warns, “Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions.” Monday is the Memorial of Saint Alphonsus Liguori, Bishop and Doctor of the Church; Thursday the Memorial of Saint John Vianney, Priest, and Saturday the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, with its own special readings. This week we complete our readings from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah. Friday and Saturday have the consoling readings from the Prophet Nahum and the Prophet Habakkuk, “the vision still has its time.” Richard Collier Nick Morales, Sr. Richard Lozano Sr. Jack Sikors Mike Gonzales Raul Rivera Amalia Ibarra Brenda Newburn Lucy Krouskop Henry Taft Kenneth Elliott Steve Willy Jennifer Whitehouse Donnie Caruthers Luis Gaytan Mason Gumler Troy Meadors Felipa Garcia Stanley Quist Joe Wages Paul Gumler Donna Lain Brenda Larsen Margarito Soto Rosario Rodríguez William Mellon Cindy Kinkaid Enrique Reyes Rosann Kinkaid Olivia Nicole Yates Mayra Anguiano Erica Vargas Michelle Elliott Margaret Wages Patti Sikors Garrett Sheila Wages Yamileth Martinez Marisela Vargas Warren Terry Sergio Morales Frances Aguirre Lucio Lopez Rosa Esperanza Ramirez Johnnie B. JOHN THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH TERRELL, TEXAS RICOS, Sĺ;; PERO DE LO QUE VALE A LOS OJOS DE DIOS Trabajar con honradez, aunque nunca lleguemos a acumular grandes bienes en este mundo… Have you been away from the Catholic Church…and have now returned, but want to know more about its teachings? Have you been a Catholic all your life, but for some reason or another, have not received the Sacraments of Confirmation or the Eucharist? Have you joined us from a different faith tradition and would like to know more about the Catholic Church? If any of these questions apply to you, we would like to help you in your journey! Or if you know of anyone who could answer “yes” to any of these questions, perhaps you could extend an invitation to them! RCIA is not a program but a process that one goes through when becoming Catholic or completing their Sacraments of Initiation. Please contact Deacon Jim Starr @ 972-563-3643
