Locate your installation authorization code that you received from Revelation Software or your authorized reseller. You will need this authorization code to activate the upgrade process. 2. Close all non-essential Windows programs. 3. Stop the OEngineServer and OETelnetServer services from previous OpenInsight installations if applicable. 4. This software will only run on Windows NT, 2000, XP Professional, Vista Business 32&64-bit, Vista Ultimate 32&64-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate 32&64-bit, 2000 Server, 2003 Server or 2008 Server. 5. OpenInsight 9.1 and above includes a client install process. When initially installing the 9.1 (either a full install or an upgrade), the client files can be installed on the ‘server’ (where OpenInsight is being installed or upgraded) automatically at the end of the setup process. On other workstations, administrators must point to the OpenInsight directory on the server and run the ClientSetup.exe file. Before running the clientsetup.exe routine for the first time, any existing OI.NET routines should be removed from the workstation. This can be done from the Add/Remove Programs on the individual workstations, and the OIPINETSetup, RevDotNet, and NetOI (if present) should be removed in this fashion. Once these have been manually removed, using the clientsetup.exe will ensure that in the futire this manual process need not be done again. In the future, when new versions of OpenInsight are released (either through upgrades or full installations), the workstations must have clientsetup.exe run on them after each OpenInsight upgrade/install (to remove the previous versions, and add in the new versions, of the .NET routines, and any other files we wish to copy to or register on the workstations). The clientsetup.exe will at that time, as described above, remove the already-installed versions and install the newly-installed versions. 6. 4 Extract the install from the installation zip file. Section II: Running the installation on the server 7. Execute the Setup.exe from within the location to which the upgrade was extracted. 5 6 7 8 9 Section III: Upgrading your workstations 8. 10 Execute the ClientSetup.exe from within your OpenInsight directory. 11 12 13 14 15 Section IV: Setting your OIPI version 1. 16 By default OpenInsight 9.2 will utilize OIPI.NET as the print engine. You can configure your system to use OIPI by changing the VSPRINTER2 setting in the SYSENV table to VSPRINTER. From the SYSPROG application open the System Editor. 2. Select Open, Record. 17 3. 18 Choose the SYSENV table and the CFG_OIPI record. 4. If you want to utilize OIPI.NET set field 1 of the CFG_OIPI to VSPRINTER2. Save the record, close OpenInsight. Your changes will take effect when OpenInsight is reopened. 19 5. 20 If you want to utilize OIPI set field 1 of the CFG_OIPI to VSPRINTER. Save the record, close OpenInsight.
