Art at the Edge sculptures at the Olympic Park
On 9th May, Art at the Edge were thrilled to take
a number of sculptures from the bronze
collection to the Olympic Park in London. They
were displayed in the Olympic Family Lounge at
the Basketball Arena during the Sainsbury’s
School Games 2012.
ART AT THE EDGE
Organised by the Youth Sport Trust, the
Sainsbury's 2012 School Games is a
multi-sport event for the UK's elite young
athletes of school age. In this it’s inaugural year,
the Games took place in London from 6th -9th
May 2012.
Over 1,600 young athletes competed in 12 current and future Olympic and Paralympic sports. The Olympic Stadium, Velodrome and Aquatics Centre at the Olympic
Park hosting the competitions on the final day.

Nikki Taylor’s stunning wire
mesh sculptures were wowing
visitors at Grand Design Live at
the ExCel Centre London last
week.
The bronze fencing sculpture by Sue Freeborough from the Art at the Edge
commissioned collection will grace the Beazley/Hillier garden ‘Duel and the
Crown’ at the Chelsea Flower show from the 22nd-26th May.
Andy McIndoe, Managing Director of Hillier Nurseries and Garden Centres
and Designer of the Hillier Chelsea Exhibit for the past 23 years said, ‘I am
delighted to feature the stunning bronze sculpture ‘Fencing’ by Sue
Freeborough, kindly loaned by Tasburgh House Hotel, Bath. ……..Although it
may be small in stature it is big in presence and perfectly captures the
dynamic energy of the sport’.

The Grand Art Fair this year and
invited Art at the Edge to
participate. Nikki’s sprinting
Olympic champion Jason
Gardener, diving Olympic
hopeful Tom Daley and graceful
gymnast were on display for the
many thousands of visitors to the
hugely popular event.
