Construction Specifications and Requirements
Classifications:
The 2016 Cubmobile Derby will only consist of the STOCK
classification
STOCK – The Stock Cubmobile classification will have cars that
are built in compliance with the guidelines published in the cub
scout handbook. In addition to meeting the specifications in the
handbook, all Stock cubmobiles will race with standard wheels and
axles which will be obtained through the Cub Scout Pack.
•No more than 3 drivers per car.
•All cars must be not pre registered
MODIFIED – There will be no modified class
Registration and Inspection:
On the day of the Derby all entrants will present their Cubmobile for
inspection, at which time they will indicate which classification they
intend to enter. The inspection will be performed to ensure the
entrant meets the specifications for the entry class, and that all
safety requirements are met. The tolerance for meeting
dimensional requirements in both classifications will be +/- 1 inch.
A car that has been entered in the Stock classification that does not
meet all the requirements will not be allowed. If you have any
questions regarding your Cubmobile design compliance, it is
suggested that you contact Andrea Arias (pack444.bsa@gmail.com) or
Jeff Dunlap (jdunlap@accuride.com), well before Derby day so that
you may have an opportunity to correct any problems.
