The Youngstown-Warren region provides exceptional highway, rail and port access. I-80/I-76
runs east-west through the center of the region and State Route 11 provides direct port access
to both Lake Erie and the Ohio River. Railways are operated by both CSX and Norfolk and Southern as well as a few short-line providers. Same day—Next day delivery operations are optimized
as the Youngtown-Warren region is situated midway between Chicago and New York (400 miles
in either direction).
Retail companies choosing to locate in Youngstown-Warren, Ohio include Things Remembered,
Macy’s, and Kmart. Graybar’s Youngstown location is one of seven national warehouses. FedEx
Freight and FedEx Ground have distribution centers in the region. Carpenter Latrobe Specialty
Metals, Ohio Steel Sheet & Plate and Taylor Steel are just a few of the steel distributors that find
the area’s infrastructure excellent for moving materials to their customers.
Anderson-DuBose recently constructed a $30 million distribution facility in Lordstown, Ohio, to
serve as headquarters and central dispatch for deliveries to McDonald and Chipotle restaurants
in a four-state territory. Schwebel’s breads, Panera bakery goods and Summer Garden sauces
also utilize the shipping advantages as part of their manufacturing operations.
Among the amenities located here are: 22 truck terminals, 13 truck stops and 2 cng-lng fuel stations. Additional services include public warehouse space, cold storage and support services in
packaging and material handing operations. 3PL Logistics providers include Comprehensive
Logistics, K&L Logistics and AIM Integrated Logistics.
