How is it used
• WS ILL displays lending charges and days to respond data in the holdings

WorldCat knowledge base (KB)
What is it?
• Database of all your electronic holdings, along with licensing information
and OpenURL links.
• User must be a cataloguing library to use full functionality
How is it used?
• WS ILL uses KB to display Open Access links for the current request to all
users
• KB profiled group that can be used in the routing of requests
• KB libraries can add their lending terms to their KB collections and set up
deflections
• WS ILL displays KB links/license information to borrowing and lending
staffs so they can see that they can fill the request from their own stock
Article Exchange
What is it?
• A cloud-based document-sharing site providing a single, secure location
where libraries worldwide can upload requested documents and library
users can retrieve articles or book chapters
How is it used?
• Eliminates security issues regarding firewalls etc.
• Supports files up to 60 MB – including high resolution documents
• Supports compliance with US copyright guidelines with automatic deletion
of files: Viewed files are deleted after 5 days or 5 views ALL files are
unviewed files are deleted after 30 days
• Lenders must have an OCLC ILL account to upload documents to Article

In the US:
• An Increase in Open Access for scholarly material
• Use of non-library, commercial partners (Get It Now)
• Libraries downsizing their print collections which is
manifesting itself as shared print programs.
