Formula Safeguard your information (what you give out and put out) 2285 women will be raped TODAY According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 835,250 women were raped in 2011. Here’s a Question: If you were about to park your car in some parking lot, and a sign at the front of that lot stated, “Warning: Owner is not responsible for theft or loss to vehicles. Oh and by the way, 25% of the cars parked on this lot will be broken into or stolen.” WOULD YOU PARK YOUR CAR THERE? Cost to Americans 110 BILLION $ In comparison, robbery costs Americans a mere 4 billion per year. The reason for the huge disparity and the staggering price tag is due to the nature of the crime and its vast repercussions, extending costs far beyond those of law enforcement and hospital treatment. Many victims of rape and sexual assault, are forced to seek help that can last, not months or years, but decades. In addition, these crimes impact both home and work. life. Absenteeism from work and the damage to relationships, all add further to the costs. Award-winning author, Richard Hart, graduated with a degree in Criminal Science at age 18 and U.C. Berkeley at age 20. He spent 5 years with the San Mateo Police Department and 2 years with Aid to Victims and Witnesses. His unique perspective on crime and its prevention, enables him to provide information available from virtually no other sources.
