Thanks to a grant from the Folk Arts Program of Arts Mid-Hudson, we will celebrate the wonderful cultures of Mexico and the Ukraine. We are pleased to be the recipients of a grant from Stewart’s Holiday Match for these programs. Please join us on Saturday, June 4, for “Library Day” from 10 – 3. Among the happenings that day will be a huge book sale, living history, music, a Paint the Town plein air workshop and more! A new exhibit has debuted in the Gallery Link on the Dairy Industry in our area. Please stop by to view this exhibit and our others. In 1966, Ellenville Public Library’s charter was legally changed to reflect our commitment to local history, a valuable addition to library services. “and Museum” was added to our name; thus, EPL&M as we now know it was created, and our local history collections were formally itemized and indexed. Nearly all of these collections were and are built by our community’s — your— donations, throughout the years. 50 years later, we’re celebrating our museum’s Golden Anniversary with special events, history based programs and new exhibits. Library Day on June 4th will feature living history activities, museum tours, a talk by Town of Wawarsing Historian Bucky Green, a book sale and more. Other upcoming events include: Preserving your Personal Archives; Learning Your Lineage; Share Your History and Keep it, too; and Telling Our Stories. Look for details in our Summer newsletter. Join us throughout this year, and help us Make History!
