The buzz in the classrooms and hallways is very positive with first term over
and holiday plans in the works.
Twenty-four more sleeps until Christmas morning, and only three weeks of
school days left, packed with all sorts of holiday activities. Life here at school
will be busy with concerts, bazaars, dinners and other school-wide activities,
but we must never lose sight of what is truly important at this time of year.
May each of your families have a wonderful month as we prepare for Christmas
and the many other celebrations that accompany the month of December.
We wish everyone the best of the Holiday Season.

Lost and Found
The lost and found is located in the lobby/ office. Please, please,
please mark your child’s outerwear with their name! This makes
it so much easier to reunite clothing with its owner. In most
cases, a last name is all we need.

A note from the CCRSB Communications Department
Winter is coming: What's your back-up plan when classes are cancelled?
The days are getting colder and with each dip in the thermometer we
move one step closer to winter weather: icy roads, snow and freezing
rain. For CCRSB schools, winter weather means the potential cancellation
of classes when conditions are considered unsuitable for our students. It
also means that parents and guardians need a back-up plan in place before
cancellations happen.

Decisions regarding class cancellations are made by CCRSB’s Operational
Services Department and generally happen in the early morning (before
6:30 am) and, in rare situations, during the day. Our staff use multiple
sources – from weather forecasts to on-the-ground reports from
transportation staff, police, and provincial road reports – to make the
decision about whether or not to cancel classes.
We try our best not to have cancellations during the day, but sometimes a
non-forecasted change in the weather means that we need to dismiss
students early. In those cases, it is really important that our schools have
the most up-to-date contact information for parents and guardians. If you
haven’t updated your contact information, please get in touch with your
child’s school.
Cancellations during the day can also be complicated by busing. Many
buses in CCRSB take students to and from multiple schools, in a set order.
The normal drop-off order, at the end of the day, will still apply in the
case of cancellation during the day.
Whether first thing in the morning, or during the day, cancellations due to
