Later, in the face of persecution, Peter and the apostles proclaim the name of Jesus (1), the Lamb who was slain (2) and who rescues us from death (Ps). For Reflection: How is your love for the Lord taken you to where, left to yourself, you may not have wanted to go. Divine Mercy Sunday April 3, 2016 There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at Sacred Heart, in the Little Church on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed at 3:00 P.M. Benediction will follow. A veces me pongo a pensar cómo serán ustedes. Do you know why we do this? The Latin words “Ite missa est” have been poorly translated into English as “The Mass is ended. Go in peace.” The Latin verb from which “missa” comes means “sent forth, go forth.” Therefore, we are being sent forth from our celebration to bring the Gospel to all whom we meet. We “go forth” behind the Cross and the priest who has led us in our Eucharistic celebration and who now leads us into the world to proclaim the Good News. Year of Mercy Pope Francis has declared a Year of Mercy beginning on December 8, 2015 and continuing until November, 2016. Let us practice the Corporal Works of Mercy during this Jubilee Year.
