Two cars burnt to ashes
following stock theft
Two bakkies belonging to stock thieves were burnt to ashes
by enraged mob next to the R36 road in Sekororo in the early
hours of Friday.
This after the two motor vehicles were found carrying 16
stolen cattle carcasses at around 03:00. Police spokesperson,
Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said police on routine
patrol on R36 road in Sekororo spotted suspicious looking
motor vehicles in the bushes next to the road.
“When the police approached the bakkies, one suspect ran
away and the other one was arrested on the scene after 16
cattle carcasses were found in the back of the bakkies,” said
Ngoepe. Ngoepe said the other suspect was arrested later
following a massive search in the bushes.
“While we were still at the scene, a large number of
community members including the owners of stolen cattle
arrived, and demanded that one of the suspects who was in
the police van be handed over to them. Police refused and
managed to get away with the suspect,” said Ngoepe.
Ngoepe said the enraged members set fire on the two
bakkies but others managed to save some of the cattle
carcasses before the cars burnt to ashes.
Two suspects aged 28 and 34 years old were due to appear
in the Naphuno Magistrate’s Court at the time of going to
press.
Ngoepe said the suspects have been charged with stock
theft after some of the owners of the stolen cattle managed to
identify them and lay charges.

SAPS on recruitment drive
In order to bolster service delivery where
it matters the most, the South African
Police Service (SAPS) has embarked on a
recruitment drive which aims to attract an
additional 6 252 members to the police force
during this 2015/2016 financial year.
National Police Commissioner, General
Riah Phiyega, who has approved the
allocations last month,
hoped that thousands of people apply for
these posts.
She emphasized that stringent measures
will be implemented to ensure that people
with criminal records, pending cases and
those that do not meet the criteria do not
find a way into the SAPS.
“Of the 6 252 additional personnel, 5
000 will be appointed in terms of the South
African Police Act in areas where the SAPS is
in need of additional capacity,” SAPS said.
These areas include detective services,
visible policing, crime intelligence, forensic
services, and protection and security services
environments.
All of these interventions are part of a
broader plan by the top echelons of the SAPS
to bring the services of the police to the
people.

troops of Leswika Classic and Napscom
confront each other in a Tickeyline derby.
Neither of these contenders can afford to
drop any point as their common mission
is narrow the gap created by the run-away
pace-setters, Rita All Stars, in the Premier
log standings.
In the Super division, the main force of
attraction will be the top-drawer encounter
between Carling and Mmaphala Peter United
staged at the Mosoroni ground on Saturday.
Both sides are embedded in the top
4 bracket, and thus the outcome of this
weekend’s encounters has huge implications
for the title chase in the Super division.
The various matches of the Super and
Premier divisions of the KLG Soccer
League will be staged at different
venues in the settlements of Lephepane,
Mokomotji, Khujwana, Tickeyline, Bokgaga,
Makhubedung, Moime and Tlhabine.

Incredible results add excitement in the KLG
Several incredible results were recorded at various venues where the
Premier and Super division matches of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG)
Soccer League were played. The results effectively added a chunk of
excitement to the already stimulating contest for the two coveted titles.
The Premier division title hopes remain realistically in the hands of log
leaders Rita All Stars, with a comfortable cushion of 10 points between
them and their closest competitor. This, after, Team Ebola (Rita All Stars)
narrowly edged out the Premiership defending champions, Manamela
Naughty Boys, 1-0 last Saturday. Khopho All Stars’ chances at the title were
dashed after suffering a heart-breaking 0-2 loss to Lephepane Rovers on
Sunday.
The merry-go-round in the Super division persisted last weekend when
Khazoro Blizzards were nailed 1-4 by Makhubedung CCV. Mmaphala
Peter United benefitted from this misery to move to the second spot after
thrashing Bancock 3-1 at the Rakoma ground. One-time log leaders, Carling,
suffered a humiliating 0-1 defeat at the hands of the lukewarm side of
Pulaneng Juventus.
The following details show how the various matches in both the Super and
Premier division of the KLG Soccer League played last weekend.
KLG Premier Division results for Saturday: Manamela Naughty Boys
0-1 Rita All Stars, Leswika Classic 3-2 Bubs, Mokokmotji Highlanders 2-1
Ramalema Cosmos, Khopho All Stars 0-2 Lephepane Rovers.
Sunday: Royal Celtic 1-3 Mapantsula, MM Super Stars 0-2 Golden Aces,
Long Valley 0-3 Hotbeans, Moime Liverpool 0-6 Napscom.
KLG Super Division results for Saturday: Mogapeng Young Chiefs 1-0
Bahlabine, Come & See 0-1 Monatic, BokgagaNaughty Boys 1-0 Bokgaga
Juventus, Ramalema Golden Bird 4-2 Mahlogwe, Khujwana Bagdad v
Sonkwane United (match not played).
Sunday, 23 August:Mmaphala Peter United 3-1 Bancock,
MakhubedungCCv 4-1 Khazoro Blizzard, Khujwana Classic 2-1 Moime
Celtic, Pulaneng Juventus 1-0 Carling.
Meanwhile, it is reported that KLG Sport hosted the annual Richard
Modipane Award Ceremony, featuring Public Speaking (Debates) and KLG
Music Show. Primary and High School learners from different schools in
the Greater Tzaneen area participated in the contest, and finally treated to
an unprecedented music show featuring local artists such as DJ Janisto, DJ
Rackzen, King Monada and Punisher Boys. Merafe FM, a local radio station
based in the local communities dazzled the community members. Stephen
Malemela (Ramoba High School) won the Public speaking contest, followed
by Comfort Malemela (Mafutsane High school) and Kgothatso Modiba
(Mabushe High School).
The patron of KLG, David Kaizer Letsoalo, took the opportunity to
honour women who contributed immensely to sport development in the
Greater Tzaneen area. These included ConnyRamorete (Hotbeans), Miriam
Leseilane (Bancock), MapitsiLetswalo (Carling) and Tlodupjane Alice
Makomela (Manamela naughty Boys).
Any information relating to KLG Sport and all its leagues and
competitions may be obtained from the Chairman of KLG Sport, Marupine
Sape (0732425265) and the Administrator of KLG Sport, Trilly Mogoboya
