As we reflect back on the success of our summer events... the Golf Outing, Rose Parade, Member Appreciation Picnic & Taste of Roselle, I would like to thank all of our countless volunteers and our Executive Director, Gail Croson, for their dedication to this Chamber. We should all be proud of a job well done! I would like to thank Matt & Paul from Bulldog Ale House for hosting a wonderful After-Hours this past month. Their incredible food and beer selection provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere which made networking easy. Don’t forget to visit them again soon! Be sure to mark your calendar for our upcoming meetings. This month’s Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 17th will be held at Villaggio Ristorante. We invited the Illinois State Comptroller Topinka’s office to speak about their POWER Program, a resource that provides small businesses with the tools needed to compete for, and land, state contracts. Later in the month Langner Eye Care will open their doors to the membership on Wednesday, September 25th for our After-Hours event. Stop by to tour one of Roselle’s finest eye care facilities! On October 11th, we have a VERY exciting event, the Roselle Chamber’s first Casino Night!! Please make sure you join us for this fun filled night featuring professional gaming tables and dealers, “funny money”, a fabulous buffet including wine and beer, door prize, raffle, entertainment & more! How to Market Your Business through the Chamber Membership in the Roselle Chamber provides its members with an avenue to promote their business through a variety of networking meetings and events. We also offer a number of promotional programs, and community involvement projects to build new business and strengthen existing relationships. NETWORKING Monthly Membership Meetings Typically takes place on the third Tuesday of the month for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is a formal meeting with an agenda. exposure to the local community. This is a Members Only Program, and it’s FREE OF CHARGE! Coupons are accepted at www.rosellechamber.com/coupons. On-Line Directory Members receive an on-line listing on the Chamber’s website which includes location, contact information, and links to member website and email. Updates and an option to enhance listings are available through an on-line form at www.rosellechamber.com/member_update.html. Website Advertising The Chamber’s website offers ad space with fees ranging in price from $200 to $300 for a 6-month subscription. Business After Hours Typically takes place on the fourth Wednesday of the month. A chamber member showcases their business and provides complimentary beverages and appetizers. Quarterly Member Orientation A chance for new and perspective members to learn more about Chamber programs and activities. Multi-Chamber Events When the opportunity arises we combine forces with other area chambers to expand our networking circle. This may be for a membership meeting or an after-hours event. The January Multi-Chamber Progressive Luncheon is popular with members with an anticipated 130+ in attendance. Social Events Annual events encourage members to relax, have a little fun, and get better acquainted with fellow members. A good example of this type of event includes our Annual Golf Outing in May, the Member Appreciation Picnic in July, and new in October 2013, Casino Night. In December we honor our Business Person of the Year at the Annual Holiday Party. eBlast Service Using the Chamber’s eService and distribution list (250+ recipients), members may send announcements and/or promotional material. Cost is $75 per blast. Monthly Newsletter Advertising Advertising space is available for member business cards; 6-month subscription is $125. Members may insert a flyer; $135/issue. Space in the Member News column is limited and is FREE OF CHARGE. Mailing Labels Membership mailing available for $25/set. labels Community Directory & Business Guide The directory is an in-house publication produced every other year. 9,000 copies are produced and hand-delivered to Roselle residents and further distributed at Village Hall, the Public Library and other businesses and organizations. The directory includes a Chamber Member products and services listing and other useful information about the Roselle community. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Rose Parade Co-hosted with the Village of Roselle, the Chamber plans and organizes the Annual Rose Parade held the first Sunday in June. Members are invited to participate as a parade entry and assist with staging. Social Media Members are encouraged to join the Roselle Chamber of Commerce Linked-In Group as an added opportunity to expand your networking circle. Lake Street, Suite A Roselle, IL 60172 Chamber Honors Past Award Recipient While the Awards Committee considers deserving individuals for our upcoming 2013 Awards Program at the Holiday Party, we’d like to pay tribute to Maureen Bell of BMO Harris Bank, our 2012 Business Person of the Year. Maureen began her career at Roselle State Bank & Trust Co. in 1977 as a teller. After the bank was purchased by Harris Bank in 1982, Maureen was named the first female president in the Harris Organization in 1992. She is responsible for the Roselle Market which includes 13 communities. Maureen is a member of the Roselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She is an active member of the Roselle Lions Club. She has been a key member of the Roselle Taste Commission for 25 years and has served on the TIF Commission for 20 years. Maureen was a founding member of AIMS group where she served as a Trustee and mentor. Maureen has volunteered her time with the Park District making sure the annual Bounce Back to School event is a success. She has served as a Trustee for the Schaumburg Elementary School Foundation for 20 years and in 2010, became a Trustee for the Village of Streamwood Economics Commission. Maureen has always lived in the market for which she is responsible but in 2007, she became an official resident of the Village of Roselle.
