Wittman, Village Trustee The Village of Roselle is sponsoring a community blood drive on Thursday, April 23 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in the basement of the fire station at 100 E. Maple Avenue. To schedule an appointment, donors may call Jeanne Calvert at (630) 671-2804, or on-line by logging onto www.lsbrighten.org and entering the sponsor code 342C. 1350 W. The Board recently voted to approve an agreement to provide emergency notification services to the community. CodeRed, the company selected to provide the service, offers a web-based interface to deliver prerecorded phone messages to at least 60,000 households an hour. CodeRed, which does not require the purchase of additional hardware, software, or phone lines, will cost the Village approximately $10,000 annually, an expenditure included in the Village’s 2009 budget. The initial telephone database will be created through utility billing information. Eventually residents and business owners will be able to manage contact information in the database, such as adding a cell phone number, via a link that will appear on the Village’s web site. The CodeRed system is designed for emergency notification purposes only. As a reminder, we have “Coffee with the Board” the first Saturday of every month from 9 – 10:30am on the Second Floor of the Village Hall, in the conference room. Everyone is welcome and this venue offers everyone an informal place to discuss anything that may be on your mind concerning the Village.
