In cold climate zones, adequate heating system is a necessity to provide an optimal house temperature for the birds to live in. There are several types of heating system available in the market such as forced-air heater, conventional brooders, radiant brooders, radiant tube heaters, high intensity radiant heater and ‘alternative heating systems’. GSI is proud to offer our high efficient forced-air heaters, the Super Saver and Purafire to our customers. These high efficient heaters maximize the thermal yield convected to the birds with minimal energy costs. A comparison of energy efficient and cost saving is given in the following example of a case study. In an area of 40’ x 250’ will require 450,000 BTU/hour of heat, which is equivalent to 12 units of conventional brooders operating simultaneously to deliver the energy to heat up this area. Each brooder converts 0.85 kg of LPG to 40,000 BTU/hour; therefore, total LPG consumption per hour is 10.2 kg. Compared to forced-air heaters, only 2 units with an output of 225,000 BTU/hour are required to do the same job. Each forced-air heater will consume 4.78 kg of LPG resulting in a 6% saving compared to the conventional brooder. Controlled air intake increases flame surface for maximum efficiency Bottom-draw design allows for consistent gas and air mix Controlled air flow pattern is directed to keep outer walls cooler Diagnostic light flashes if problems occur Gas valve is protected against corrosion and radiant heat Electronic igniter is encased to protect against heat and damage Flame rod monitors heat chamber operations Powerful, warm air output Warning: Do not use this heater in an improperly ventilated area or where liquids with flammable vapors are stored or used. 08 www.gsiasia.net October 2012 09 NEW GLOBAL SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONAL NEW SUPPORT FOR GSI INDIA’S TEAM GROWERS FEEDING THE WORLD As part of AGCO Corporate aims to promote sustainable and profitable growth in all AGCO business through superior customer service, innovation, quality and commitment.
