Thank you for your continued support, Chris Johnson Apparel Designer/Consultant 2015 Board of Directors ~ Chair 2015 Committee Leadership On January 12, MetroNorth hosted a Committee Co-Chair Summit to discuss committee goals as well as ways in which we could work together to ensure successful programming and events� Great conversation was had and new connections were made� We’re looking forward to some stellar work from this impressive group of leaders� If you would like to learn more about our amazing committees (listed to the left) just call the Chamber� Committee Summit Attendees Of course, feel free to simply stop by any upcoming committee meeting to learn first-hand what they’re all about� A schedule of upcoming meeting times and locations is on the back page of this newsletter, or visit www�metronorthchamber�org� Committees are a great way to make connections, give input into chamber events & programming, and even develop leadership skills along the way� 2 Dialing it Up S ome organizations dial it down during the holidays…MetroNorth dials it UP! In December, an overflow crowd attended the Wine Club’s Holiday Hoopla at Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking� A fun icebreaker game and a bounty of bottles of wine as door prizes added to the fun� Mike Mulrooney thanks Mike Thorsland for 6 years of board service A few days later, members converged at the National Sports Center for our 2014 Annual Meeting� Holiday Hoopla guests have fun with an icebreaker game The keynote was by Judge John Tunheim, who gave insights into the Kennedy Assassination� We also recognized our 2014 Committee Chairs, outgoing Board members, as well as elected new Board members for 2015� Talk about a busy mem2014 Committee Chairs are recognized bership meeting! One of the most memorable moments of the month was at the Working with Women’s holiday party & ugly sweater contest� These ladies put some EFFORT into their ensembles! A captivated crowd on the Kennedy Assassination A perfect ending to the holidays was making connecUgly sweater contestants compete for great prizes tions at the January 2nd Gophers hockey game� You may recall that the Warner’s generously donated their suite for our 2014 Gala live auction� Financial One Credit Union was the winner & they put it to good use, bringing together a variety of business professionals at this doubleheader game� Of course, there’s no rest for the weary, not at this Chamber! On January 7th your Chamber President attended a statewide Session Priorities MN Chamber event with 1800 other business-minded individuals� It’s important to MetroNorth that we stay in touch with our elected officials & pay close attention to issues at the Capitol as well as in Anoka County & its cities� We hope to see you at upcoming business councils & other government affairs meetings where we can keep you updated on what’s happening on a legislative front� As always, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have specific issues important to you & your business� Making connections at the Gophers hockey game 3 Upcoming Events Olive Garden Wine Event Coon Rapids Business Council Don’t miss the Grapevine Wine Club’s popular Olive Garden event!
