Introduction
This document describes the main user functions of ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc.

1.2
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for using ProNovia products:
The ProNovia products to be used must be installed and setup correctly on the relevant systems.
The ProNovia products must be properly integrated, activated and configured. Details see ProNovia Basic
Library Integration and Enhancement Manual.
To use the ProNovia products, valid licenses for each product must be loaded on each system. Details see
ProNovia Basic Library Integration and Enhancement Manual.
The necessary permissions for the display and maintenance of SAP objects must be present.

Application
The usage of ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc depends on the customer definition and the integration on the
system. It may be possible, that a change document and also the original will be created automatically or the
change document has to be created by user request and the original has to be maintained manually.
This chapter describes possible applications of ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc. The customer specific
integration must be described in the project documentation.
2.1
CHD Dialog Modules
ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc provides different dialog modules, which can be integrated in SAP DMS. The
modules can also be integrated into other dialogs. Also ProNovia SAP PLM GUI offers a tab, which uses a
CHD dialog module.
The following dialog modules can be integrated (the frame is not part of the module; it can be defined differently
or be missing at all):

Elements of the dialog modules
Element
Description
This text will appear instead of the push button, if according the settings
for the current document in the current state ProNovia SAP DMS
ChangeDoc is not active.
Text is selectable in the basic settings and may be different from the text
shown on the left.
Depending on the authorizations, the settings and the current status of the
change document, one of the following functions will be performed.
Creation of a change document.

Description
Change of the original to a change document.
Display of the original or the view format for the change document.
Icon and text can be adjusted in the settings and therefore be different from
the text shown.
Push button indicates, whether a change document for a document exists.
Red = no change document exists, green = change document exists.
Initiates an information dialog with information about the change document:
Document / Document type
Key, current status and description of the change document.
Display of document info record for the change document via SAP DMS
standard transaction CV03N.

SAP DMS Tabs
ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc can be integrated into SAP DMS transactions as additional tab. For details
about the dialog module please refer CHD Dialog Modules 6 . The picture below shows how such integration,
using dialog module „Midi 2“:

The standard package of ProNovia SAP PLM GUI provides a customizing example for document object
„ChangeDoc“:
The tab name and the possible push buttons functions can be defined in the ProNovia SAP PLM GUI settings.
2.4
ProNovia SAP ProcessManager Workbench Functions
If a change document is assigned to a document, it will be displayed in the PRM workbench:

Using the icon’s context menu the change document (-original) can be edited or displayed.
It depends on the status and the authorization which editing function will be provided.
2.5
Checks and Actions on Status Change
Depending on the settings, a status change on the leading document will initiate different checks and actions
by ProNovia SAP DMS ChangeDoc:
Automatic creation of the change document.
Control whether a change document is existing and if not, depending on the settings, the status change will
be denied.
Control, whether the change document shall be created

Status synchronization of the change document with the status of the leading document acc. to the settings.
Status change on the change document can then again trigger a forced input of the original file or the
creation of a display format.
