President’s Message
Some time ago, I read a quote regarding the prosperity of an organization, according to the President.
“Member Engagement is Key to Our Success.” I would have to agree. For the last five or so years, that has
been my painfully repetitive appeal. I am thankful that each time someone was needed, someone stepped up.
This makes the President’s job so much easier.
As I leave the President’s position of this club, I now acknowledge all the hard working volunteers of
Southern Berkshire. From the lunch makers and raffle organizers, to gun captains, ring stewards, and event
chairs, thank you all for accepting the requests to help us be successful. The life of the club will only exist as
long as people help.
I have learned much about the dog world and met some great people along the way. But I am not done.
I was taught that life is a learning experience and continues every day. I know I can be better at what I will do
in the future. Anyone who’s seen my dogs work knows that! But what I have learned I had to do more than
anything is to listen. There is a lot of knowledge in those around us and I’ve listened to a lot; compliments,
complaints, advice. Sorting through it all and applying the best solution is at times a dilemma. I tried to always do what’s best for the club.
It is my request that the membership continue to support our new President, Officers and Board of Directors. I also highly encourage your participation. Those who have been the hardest working members get
tired and overwhelmed at times. Please help out. You will get the assistance anyone else would. It is your
club. It is you that makes it successful. Dave Weiss
Agility Trial
Let's see...
SBGRC's agility trial is getting all set for June. Thank you to the club members who have stepped up to fill
the committee positions and volunteered their time. We will once again be working with Canine Health
Events over the weekend. This will include Friday's proceeds, two matches - Thursday and Friday evenings,
the Senior/Survivor Run on Saturday morning, and the raffles over the entire weekend.
We will be sending out a sign up sheet about a month in advance for members to let us know when they can
come to help out. Even if you don't do agility, we would appreciate a few hours of your time over the weekend, giving those of us who will be there all three days a little break to sit down and rest. We will particularly
need help for set up Thursday from 2 p.m. till 5 or so, as well as for the match Thursday evening, and even
more so on Sunday afternoon for break down starting around 3:30 p.m. We can teach you anything you need
to know to help out!
Thanks,
Pat McKinney

Franklin. MA - she went 3 for 3 and finished her CD-C in short order, with a

by a mere crooked sit. It was nice to show in a friendly, relaxed, supportive
environment. Page loves to heel and I am very proud of her. On to CDSP

Susan Crum writes, "Page finished her CDSP CDX (CDX-C) in three straight
