LENTEN PRACTICES AT ICS
Our focus this year for Lent is the “Year
of Mercy.” With this, the faculty and
students are putting into practice the
Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
During Lent, the students will do some
type of volunteer work to reach out to
the homeless and/or the sick.
Our daily Lenten practices include the
suggestions from the Lenten Calendar
that is available on our website. Each
morning during the announcements, a
daily reflection and practice is read. We
end our day by praying a decade of the
rosary as a school. You can join us at
2:55p and pray a decade of rosary at
work, on your way to pick up your children or on the parking lot while waiting
for dismissal.
Students in Grades 2-8 have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
On March 23, we will have the Living
Stations of the Cross led by our 7th
Graders at 8:00 a.m. The remainder of
the morning will include activities that
focus on Lent and Holy Week. The
students and faculty will have a Seder
Meal at 11:00a.
We encourage you, as a family, to do
the Lenten practices that were sent
home. Pray the rosary as a family,
attend daily Mass or other ideas that
you come up with as a family are great
ways to prepare during this Lenten
season. As a family, please use the
Catholic Relief Service Rice Bowls that
were sent home. Your sacrifices can
help those who are less fortunate.
Rice Bowls can be returned to school
the week of March 21.

Each adult meal includes: Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, Hush Puppies, French
Fries and Cole Slaw. Beverages and Desserts not included.
DINE-IN OR CARRY-OUT
COST: $11.00 per adult meal
$1.00 Beverages (Tea, coffee, soda, lemonade)
$1.00 Variety of desserts
Volunteers needed to help set-up, clear tables and clean-up at the end.
This is a great way for our school families to give time to help our school.
All proceeds from the Fish Fry will support our Security Upgrades.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Beginning February 19th, we will hold
our registration for the next school
year. Registration forms will be sent
home in the Friday Folder on Friday,
February 19th. Please return the completed forms ASAP. If you need additional forms, please call the school
office.

Ticket order forms will be sent home on Friday,
February 26th. Students and parents can help to
promote our school by volunteering to serve the
lunch at the restaurant. Mark your calendars for
Saturday, March 19th.

those who supported our Jump
Rope for Hearts
Program this year.
This was our first
year in doing this a
while. We apologize for not clearly
advertising the program. The students had fun jump
roping during PE class. Students in grades 5-8 participated in the Hoops for Heart Program.
Please turn in all donation money to the school office
by Friday, February 26th. Thank you!
Well, ICS has the answer for you. You and your children can
help to work the Fish Fry on Fridays. We need students to
help clear the tables. Parents can help to serve food, drinks
and desserts. It would be nice if the students wore an ICS
shirt to promote their school spirit. If you cannot give the
whole time, even 1 hour is helpful.
If you are not able to volunteer, we are in need of sheet
cakes or brownies for the desserts.
Thank you in advance for helping our school. The money
raised from the Fish Fry will go to our security upgrades.
TAKE CHARGE OF EDUCATION
Thank you to those who shop at Target and use the
REDcard. We received a check from Target in the
amount of $532.30. Please continue to use your Redcard throughout the remainder of this school year. We
get 1% back on all purchases.
Unfortunately, this program is ending on May 14,
2016. Schools will receive their accrued funds in July.
CHICK-FIL-A LUNCH
WEDNESDAY,

Our next Chick-Fil-A Lunch is Wednesday, March 16th.Order
forms will be sent home on Friday, March 4th. All orders and
payment must be turned in by Monday, March 14th. There are
no exceptions to this. The order form is also available on the
PlusPortal.
