Dear family, My name is Ana Maria Miller, first I am a child of God, the seventh of eight children. I'm married and have four children. I am a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes since 1998 and I am involved in many ministries. About six months ago I asked for your collaboration to be able to finish a Spiritual Companionship program that I was taking at St Thomas University. This program is called "Spiritual Companionship, its purpose is to train people to be able to listen and accompany others on their experiences in life, feeling the presence of God acting in their lives. The purpose of this program is to prepare individuals who can provide this service. I would like to thank all who contacted me; especially those who are meeting with me monthly sharing their journey in Christ. This past May 5th I graduated with six wonderful ladies, which are going to serve the ministry at their parishes. If you are interested in meeting with me please call 305-389-7389 or send me an email to anamariamiller@bellsouth.net.; also if you hear the call to join the program at St Thomas University I am forever grateful to Monsignor Schwanger for giving me this opportunity to reach you and to serve the Lord in the midst of this, our family. Please pray for me and for this ministry, that more parishioners get formed to be able to expand this necessary service. In the midst of a political persecution of the strong Catholic faith of a rural people suffering and depleted, the Mother of God appeared in a succession of a great number of mystical events. Mary quickly is presented under the title of the Queen of Peace. This is the central point of her message, in a world that increasingly moves away from true peace, as only Jesus can give. The petition of Mary in Medjugorje is simple and clear: prayer, fasting, confession, the Eucharist and the reading of the Holy Bible are unfailing paths to find true conversion. As I emphatically stated at Denver, on the occasion of the Eighth World Youth Day, “with time the threats against life have not grown weaker. They are taking on vast proportions. They are not only threats coming from the outside, from the forces of nature or the „Cains‟ who kill the „Abels‟; no, they are the scientifically and systematically programmed threats.” We are in fact faced by an objective <conspiracy against life>, involving international Institutions, engaged in encouraging and carrying out actual campaigns to make contraception, sterilization and abortion widely available. Facebook: OLOL Catholic Church Miami FL Decimocuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario 6 de Julio 2014 OLOL Christian Formation classes are not only for children but for those adults who wish to become fully initiated into the Catholic faith by receiving all their Sacraments. (Registrations going on now at Christian Formation office) The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) The modern Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is modeled after the early Church’s practices of welcoming people into the church, preparing them for life as a Christian, and celebrating the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and first Eucharist. The rite applies to adults and older children who are considering becoming Catholic. It outlines a series of stages of faith development and celebrations as a person progresses in his or her commitment to Discipleship in the Roman Catholic Church. The joyful celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection at the Easter Vigil is the time when those who have prepared well are welcomed into the Church and the Easter Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) are celebrated with the whole community present. The stages of the R.C.I.A. are: Pre-catechumenate, Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, and Mystagogy. Each of these stages has a unique character that is marked by a deepening love of Christ and an increasing understanding of, and commitment to life as a disciple of Christ. These terms are familiar to some and may sound strange to others. That is OK. Over the next several weeks, we will explore the R.C.I.A. and look at each of these stages as we begin a new cycle of celebration, growth in faith, and welcome. “Closeness to Christ in silence and contemplation does not distance us from our contemporaries but, on the contrary, makes us attentive and open to human joy and distress, broadening our hearts on a global scale. It unites us with our brothers and sisters in humanity, particularly with children, who are the Lord‟s dearly beloved. Through Adoration, the Christian greatly contributes to the radical transformation of the world, according to Saint John Paul.”
