Message from the Ministry of
Spiritual Companionship
____________________________
Are you looking for Spiritual Companionship?
Dear family,
My name is Ana Maria Miller, first I am a child of God, the seventh of
eight children. I'm married and have four children. I am a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes since 1998 and I am involved in many
ministries.
About six months ago I asked for your collaboration to be able to
finish a Spiritual Companionship program that I was taking at
St Thomas University. This program is called "Spiritual Companionship, its purpose is to train people to be able to listen and
accompany others on their experiences in life, feeling the presence
of God acting in their lives. The purpose of this program is to prepare
individuals who can provide this service.
I would like to thank all who contacted me; especially those who are
meeting with me monthly sharing their journey in Christ.
This past May 5th I graduated with six wonderful ladies, which are
going to serve the ministry at their parishes.
If you are interested in meeting with me please call 305-389-7389 or
send me an email to anamariamiller@bellsouth.net.; also if you hear
the call to join the program at St Thomas University
I am forever grateful to Monsignor Schwanger for giving me this
opportunity to reach you and to serve the Lord in the midst of this,
our family.
Please pray for me and for this ministry, that more parishioners get
formed to be able to expand this necessary service.

Mensaje de el Ministerio de
Acompañamiento Espiritual
____________________________
¿Estás buscando Acompañamiento Espiritual?
Querida familia,
hijos, estoy casada y tengo cuatro hijos.
necesario.
Espero que pasen una semana muy bendecida

The Virgin Mary appeared to six children on June 24, 1981 in Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovina, a country
dominated by atheistic communism. In the midst of a political persecution of the strong Catholic faith of a
rural people suffering and depleted, the Mother of God appeared in a succession of a great number of mystical events. Mary quickly is presented under the title of the Queen of Peace. This is the central point of her
message, in a world that increasingly moves away from true peace, as only Jesus can give. The petition of
Mary in Medjugorje is simple and clear: prayer, fasting, confession, the Eucharist and the reading of the
Holy Bible are unfailing paths to find true conversion.

GOSPEL OF LIFE #13
EVANGELIUM VITAE - St. John Paul II
Humanity today offers us a truly alarming spectacle, if we consider not only how extensively attacks on life are spreading but
also their unheard-of numerical proportion, and the fact that
they receive widespread and powerful support from a broad
consensus on the part of society, from widespread legal approval and the involvement of certain sectors of health-care
personnel. As I emphatically stated at Denver, on the occasion
of the Eighth World Youth Day, “with time the threats against
life have not grown weaker. They are taking on vast proportions. They are not only threats coming from the outside, from
the forces of nature or the „Cains‟ who kill the „Abels‟; no, they
are the scientifically and systematically programmed threats.”
We are in fact faced by an objective <conspiracy against life>,
involving international Institutions, engaged in encouraging
and carrying out actual campaigns to make contraception, sterilization and abortion widely available.

GOSPEL OF LIFE #13
EVANGELIUM VITAE - San Juan Pablo II

OLOL Christian Formation classes are not only for children but for those adults who wish
to become fully initiated into the Catholic faith by receiving all their
Sacraments. (Registrations going on now at Christian Formation office)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
The modern Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is modeled after the early Church’s practices of
welcoming people into the church, preparing them for life as a Christian, and celebrating the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation, and first Eucharist. The rite applies to adults and older children who are considering becoming Catholic. It
outlines a series of stages of faith development and celebrations as a person progresses in his or her commitment to
Discipleship in the Roman Catholic Church. The joyful celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection at the Easter Vigil is the time
when those who have prepared well are welcomed into the Church and the Easter Sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, and
Eucharist) are celebrated with the whole community present.
The stages of the R.C.I.A. are: Pre-catechumenate, Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, and
Mystagogy. Each of these stages has a unique character that is marked by a deepening love of Christ and an increasing
understanding of, and commitment to life as a disciple of Christ. These terms are familiar to some and may sound strange to
others. That is OK. Over the next several weeks, we will explore the R.C.I.A. and look at each of these stages as we begin a
new cycle of celebration, growth in faith, and welcome.
Mistagogia.
“Closeness to Christ in silence and
contemplation does not distance us
from our contemporaries but, on the
contrary, makes us attentive and
open to human joy and distress,
broadening our hearts on a global
scale. It unites us with our brothers
and sisters in humanity,
particularly with children, who are
the Lord‟s dearly beloved. Through
Adoration, the Christian greatly
contributes to the radical transformation of the world, according to
Saint John Paul.”
humana, ampliando nuestros
corazones en una escala global. Nos une
con nuestros hermanos y
hermanas en la humanidad, en especial
con los niños, que son amados del
Señor. A través de la adoración, el
cristiano contribuye en gran medida a
la transformación radical del mundo,
de acuerdo con San Juan Pablo. "
