The American Track League rolls into Texas this Friday night for its 5th stop on the tour which
promises to revolutionize the sport of track and field. This FREE and high energy event featuring
live music and the ATL dance team will be hosted by Rice University in Houston, Texas
(Holloway Field). Many Olympic Heroes will be on hand for the competition which allows fans
to get up close and personal with the competitors.
Many Texas natives and local stars will be on hand including Olympic Silver Medalist in the
High Jump Brigetta Barrett who hails from Duncanville, TX. US Champion Sprinter and 2012
Bowerman winner, Kimberlyn Duncan, from Katy, Texas, will be running in an exciting
women’s 200m race.
The men’s 200m race is guaranteed to be a race to the finish featuring 3-time Olympian and
former Baylor athlete, Jeremy Wariner and Olympian Wallace Spearmon.
3-Time Olympic Medalist DeeDee Trotter will be racing in her signature glitter face paint in the
women’s 400m, hoping to claim her 3rd ATL win. Her challenge will come from 3-time
Olympic Medalist and Jamaican star Shericka Williams.
Mark Jelks is currently the 3-time reigning champion in the men’s 100m on the American Track
League circuit and is looking to remain undefeated and add win number 4. He will be pressured
by a field which includes four sub-10 second men.
The events which kick off at 7:00pm on Friday, will be hosted by master of ceremonies Paul
Souza, the lead singer of the Velveteen Playboys. The main entertainment of the night will be the
sounds and experience of award winning DJ, Abe the Assassin, and the girls of the ATL Dance
team, led by Sabrina Clark, the “2011 NFL’s Hottest Cheerleader”. For more information about
