The statement of the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding the electronic invoice
exchange initiated the modernization of processes in accounts receivable accounting
and customer care. The savings potential of the electronic invoice is promising. The
result of a study of Deutsche Bank Research revealed a cost reduction of up to 80%.
During research, the cost factors for printing, paper, enveloping, dispatch, payment
reminders and cash management as well as archiving were analyzed and opposed to

The billing of invoices continues to take place through the familiar SAP® transactions

DirectBillingControl Monitor which is integrated in SAP®. This is the place where all
important information such as invoice number, customer number, recipient, invoice
amount, technical type of dispatch as well as delivery status of outgoing invoices are

area. A display of the invoice as source document by the archive system is possible at
any time from the monitor.
