Subaru IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant North American Championship More than 2,700 international athletes in action! Aug 17, 2014 It is with great enthusiasm that Tremblant is preparing to welcome you for an unforgettable experience during the 2014 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant North American Championship on Sunday, August 17, 2014. We are excited to welcome you for this amazing event that will allow you to discover Tremblant's irrepressible energy and cheer on more than 2,700 athletes, from over 50 different countries, including Quebec's elite racers. Come Cheer on the Athletes! You will be able to see the athletes in action at many strategic points along the course and follow them live with the IRONMAN mobile application. Athletes will start at the Beach and Tennis Club at 6:36 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, for a 3.8 km swim, followed by 180 km of biking and 42.2 km of running to finally cross the finish line in the pedestrian village. We hope to see you in great numbers to encourage the athletes and to take part in the festive atmosphere that will reign over the pedestrian village throughout the entire week. PLAN YOU TRIP TO TREMBLANT SCHEDULE COURSES AND MAPS Trip Planning! If you plan on visiting Tremblant during the event, we recommend that you arrive Friday or Saturday. However, if you arrive the day of the event, we strongly recommend that you park at the Wheeler airport (in front of the La Belle golf course, formerly Gray Rocks), which will be accessible by Rang 8, since no parking will be available at the mountain site. The shuttle service is offered for free and will be in continuous operation from 4 a.m. on August 17 until 1 a.m. on August 18. The Mont-Tremblant municipal transport service will be available at night and will resume its regular service on August 18. Note that the only access possible will be Route 327-south, by Montée Kavanagh and Rang 8, from any direction (Versant Nord, Mont-Tremblant village or La Conception). Free Parking and Transportation by Municipal Buses The majority of roads around Tremblant will be closed for the event between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. We encourage spectators to enjoy the IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant experience by taking advantage of the free shuttle services and parking available for this special event. From that point on, a free shuttle service will take you to Tremblant (where there are no available parking areas during the event). An IRONMAN representative will be on-board to direct you and answer all your questions. This shuttle circuit will operate continuously from 4 a.m. on August 17, until 1 a.m. on August 18. Municipal bus services, offered for free, will then ensure continuity of service throughout the night until its regular schedule resumes on August 18. Please note that the shuttle stop for Tremblant is located at the corner of Chemin CuréDeslauriers and Chemin Duplessis Access to Activities on August 17, 2014 Pedestrian Village All activities offered on site will be available, except for bike rentals at Chalet des Voyageurs. Beach and Tennis Club Swimming area will be open for visitors at around 10 a.m., and all services at Centre Nautique Pierre Plouffe will be offered at opening time. Tennis courts will be open all day long on August 17. Transportation within the pedestrian village Casino Express Gondola: Opened from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Cabriolet: Opened from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Golfs and Spa Le Géant golf course will be closed on August 17 while Le Diable will be accessible via Rue Labelle from the back entrance located just behind the Visitor Information Centre located at the corner of Montée Ryan and Rue Labelle. Please arrive at least one hour before your tee off. Scandinave Spa will be closed during the event. IRONMAN Village The IRONMAN village will be set in the P1 parking where there will be kiosks and services including the IRONMAN store and other exhibitors. COURSES Swim Course (3.8 km) The swim course is held in the pristine waters of Lac Tremblant. It starts from Beach and Tennis Club and ends at the Parc Plage. Athletes will swim in the crystal-clear water of this magnificent lake, surrounded by breathtaking mountains. Bike Course (180 km) The bike course takes you on Chemin Duplessis towards Lac Supérieur. This hilly course will be completely closed to traffic. Run Course (42.2 km) From the Transition Area (at the P1 parking area at the base of the resort village), the course leads athletes to Lac Tremblant, then past the Beach and Tennis Club and on to the Mont-Tremblant Old Village. The second loop follows the same course.
